I just got a veiled chameleon 3 days ago and every time i come in the room he always runs and hides. Should a stay out of my room or what
How do I help my chameleon get used to it new home

You need to give her/him food and mist so you can't avoid getting close a few times, but I'd say you should stay as far from the cham as possible, letting her/him to get used to the movements from far at first.
Maybe you could also cover the enclosure but I'm not sure, I'd wait for more experienced answers.

I would say get close when feeding and misting and after a week or a little after offer your hand, if she runs let her go. Hand feeding is one way to get him used to your hands as well. I wouldn't offer your hand to him everyday though because it will cause more stress. During the day I'm not in my room so my chameleon had a lot of time by herself, she seems to accept my hand better now.
