How do I get my cham to eat his calcium?

This is my first time owning a cham and today, I gave him so crickets with calcium on it and I think he ate one and there was a dead one without its calcium on so I sprinkled a little bit of calcium on it and put it in front of him and he got it, but he spat the cricket back out, how can I get him to eat it and should I try and put less calcium on the cricket?

Your crickets shouldn't be white - they should just be one shade lighter. If they are white, you're putting too much on them. I usually put some powder in a Cup, throw some crickets in there, put a lid on it, and shake them up so that each cricket it evenly coated.

I put a little in a bag with the feeder insect and shake it. Did you feed him any un-dusted crickets before? One of my chams will shoot at as many bugs as she sees, but once she is full, she will bite it once then spit it out.

Are you only feeding yours crickets. I make sure I rotate and offer a good variety, and make sure it's not always the crickets I'm dusting. They will get sick of crickets. My cham's least favorite is crickets, with his most fave being superworms. Mine get undusted insects all the time. I just make sure that their primary diet/meal is dusted every day. I give them treats of undusted hornworms and such - I'm not going to dust everything I put into his mouth.
