Ceramic Heaters?!?!? I always used the zoomed basking lights and they burn out every 3-4 months (really cheeses me off). So I thought why not use a ceramic heater? most are garunteed to last around 5 years! I understand chams need light, so could I just use a low wattage house light and replace the basking light with a ceramic? This would def. save money in my wallet.

Why don't you just use a 40-75 watt house bulb for heat and light along with your 5.0 UVB?

now why didnt I think of that. house lights do go up to 70 watts and there sooo much cheaper. and i never new what the halogen lights were...until now!

jamnchristian is right, halogen bulbs would be better than a ceramic. but both get a lot hotter than other bulbs. why are you going warmer? just use 3$ incandesent house bulbs
