How colorful should a 5 month old blue bar be?

Hi I have a 5 month old Blue bar Ambilobe that I got about 2 weeks ago. Sometimes hes got some color (red on the throat, armpits, belly and blue spots on the side) but usually hes just dark with dark stripes or sortof a grey color. And I'm pretty sure he hates me! We were off to a good start and he looked happy the first week, but one day I saw he managed to naw off a piece of a stick and wanted to swallow it so I took him out to get it out of his mouth and now hes always watching me and is super leary of me and I think is plotting how to kill me! Is his lack of color because hes mad at me and if so, can our relationship ever be mended?

Sounds like a female to me, but post a pic and we can tell for sure. My avatar pic is of a 4 month old male bb ambilobe.

So what do you guys think? Is this abnormal for a 5 month old male Blue bar?

Oh man I hope so! His dad is Pappa Zippy from http://www.chameleoncaretaker.com and hes really stunning. I'm just not sure why pictures of other 5 month old males look more colorful? My Rudis is really comfortable with me and crawls all over me if he wants out. I put him down, he just crawls back onto me. I hope my panther just gets used to me with time..

i think once he gets used to his surroundings hell show his colors more, mine didnt warm up to me for a few weeks either and once he did.. his colors started showing more....and since ours are bros, i think youll have the same results

definitley a male, and give it time, color will sure come around sooner or later, he still needs to grow and the color will come, looks amazing tho.. i was wanting to get one of those from papa zippy also but a female for my male, too bad i didn't :/ .. oh well looks amazing!
