Horrible news...

...my PS3 broke down. I contacted Sony and was told there is nothing they can do to save my console...once the red light goes blinking when powered, game is over. I still remember the day I picked it up at Target. It was sunny, but cold day with a few clouds hanging to the East, pushed by the lovely breeze that made the flowers released their pollen and sway back and forth...as I was walking around the aisles of the store, pushing the cart with the console prominently displayed, some punks would come up to me saying things like "Is that the new Sony PS3?" and would give a smirk and look the other way, ignoring, as if I did not hear them. We spent numerous hours together playing, laughing, watching movies and...now...just waiting for the new console that am getting next week...blink blink blink...

Sorry for your loss........they really get to you don't they:rolleyes:.......rip ps3 :D

I felt the same way when my 360 got stolen (we got robbed). MY husband and I had so many games at 100% completion...and not little games either! I'm talking Fallout (okay it was almost 100%), all the Halo's, Assassin's Creed (have you seen how many friggin flags you have to collect??), etc, etc. I had rare and mutated items in some games and if nothing else, that was hundreds of hours of our lives just gone. They never recovered it. :(

My boyfriend is a game designer and I am a gamer. We have a lot of consoles around both of our apartments and both of us have grown very fond of our Nintendo consoles because they rarely need maintenance or break ;)

Sorry about your PS3 :( A console can become a fixture in our lives and it really sucks when you have to replace them. It just isn't the same.

if you are on live and this happend all you have to do is bring up your gt on your new consol and all your achievements will be back so you really didn't lose any of it but just when you do change your password so who ever took it can't get online and play with your id.

This'll cheer you up! Maybe..
Thanks. That video is way too cute for me...

Howdy Rafael,

If you aren't sending it in for a professional repair, you might as well (if you haven't already) watch the YouTube PS3 Repair videos and see if any will solve your situation :

Hey Dave, some of the guys from work do computer repair as a hobbie and have changed hard drives on PS3s before, but when it comes to the blinking red light a hard drive replacement they told me will not work. But thanks for the links...I have another PS3 coming in the mail! Hayo!

Yeah but the save files are lost. So I can never go back and replay any of my games, especially those it's save+ files where I could play through with bonus abilities. And yes changing the password and removing our credit card information was kind of an obvious necessity.

no when you bring back your gt you files get uploaded back on your new xbox all you have to redownload is your map pack or add ons that you purchased and this is free so you lose nothing same thing goes with the ps3

Well, guess what...I fixed my PS3! I watch the videos Dave Weldon pointed out, heat gun in hand and got it working! Thank you Dave! :D
