They came today :) they're pretty small though still... How long is it from egg to pupae? I put some fresh tomato in with them and they're going to town! I will probably breed some off, but I am interested in the timeframe as a larva so I can get the most out of them. :)

i believe it takes about 3-4 weeks to get about 4-6 inches long then they pupate and thats about another 1-2 weeks to adult moth

well it depends on what you want to do with them. If you want to prolong their life for feeding I would put them in the frig for a day or two at a time to slow their growth.

If you want to grow them quickly and breed.....depends on what they are eating. They do grow much faster on the commercial chow than greens and other veggies. If you feed them constantly they can grow to full size within a week or two. Then they will stop eating and can take another week or so to actually pupate. Once they pupate, if kept in the proper conditions they can hatch in to moths within around 3 weeks. However, if lighting and temperature isn't right they will go in to hibernation and wont hatch for months.
