Hornworms food

I received hornworms Monday in the mail ...so my question is what do I feed them ? I uses Rapashy bug burger for my Crickets. What do I uses for these guys? Thank you

They require a special formla food like slkworms do.

They didn't come in a cup with food? I think I remember hearing they can get by on green peppers. Their nature all diet of tomatoes leaves makes them toxic.

You can feed the hornworms carrots to gutload them. It doesn't do much for the worms, but the main idea is to gutload them before you give them as a feeder. Assuming you only have a 12 cup of worms just throw in some carrots and they'll munch it. If you have a lot, don't feed them all carrots because it eventually kills them. Only long term food is hornworm chow and it smells awful.

Where did you get them from?? Didn't they tell you they need chow to eat?? I buy mine in a cup that comes with food.

Yes it came with food, but now the food is gone.
I just bought some little ones today , can I mix big and small hornworms? Or will they eat the little ones. Also if put the cup in a cooler area , does that slow their growth down?

Yes you can mix sizes. They will not eat each other . I have never tried putting them in a cooler area to slow down growth, but I believe I have read it does work.

Don't stick them in a fridge to cool. Just go low 70s or high 60s and that'll do it

If you wish to buy the proper food there are multiple sources, Mulberry Farms being one of them. It's easy to keep on hand and make small batches when needed, and lasts about a month in the refrigerator. It will benefit your chams the most to use the proper food for the worms. If the food in your cup they come in is light tan in color and the worms are teal colored, then it is ideal (but not absolutely necessary) to buy the same food which produces teal worms from a source like that already mentioned. If your worms come in a cup with dark green food then it would be ideal to purchase the regular silkworm chow which is dark green (again, from Mulberry Farms or a similar source). Personally I have the best luck this way rather than switching my worms to a different color chow when they are half grown. Others may say it makes no difference - I'm just speaking from personal experience!

They are from California. Shipping is going to depend on how far you are from them and which shipping speed you choose. They are pretty fast though.

Mine will eat both hornworm and silkworm chow. I get it from Mulberry Farms, as Monta mentioned.

Repashy has hornworm chow now and I️ like the idea that it is plain to see what it is in it and it’s not full of chemical preservatives.
