You don’t need to dust isopods since they are already high in calcium. But yes they would ignore them for the most part unless they know they can find food down there.

Lol fair, but if you wanted your chameleon to get anywhere near the levels he/she needed, dusting would required. Again, not a good food source :ROFLMAO:

Gus fraba. I was directly responding to the new member asking about surviving only on his clean up crew. I wasnt saying that isopods werent a good feeder, I quote said "not a good food source" in response to clean up crews being the sole sorce of food not being a good food source.

Edit: the comment about dusting was just a joke about if he relied soley on his CUC hed have to double up on the calcium because he wouldnt eat enough of the Isopods. Tis all.

You’re concerned that someone is asking a question on a platform where people are supposed to ask questions? As I said, IM VERY NEW TO THIS. IM A BEGINNER. VERY BEGINNER. BEGINNERS need to ask questions. You tell me to do my homework... well I thought this platform could be used for doing my homework. It’s going to be MONTHS before I get my chameleon and I’m doing research literally every day. I am SO new to this that I JUST found out what a clean up crew is. Yeah.. that’s how beginner I am. Just found out about a CUC when I was concerned with keeping his enclosure as sanitary as needed, and I didn’t know what happens to his feces if I keep plants at the bottom of his enclosure. I’m such a beginner that I started a thread, “where does his poop go?” So please... if you’re going to be rude, don’t reply to me. I appreciate all of the awesome advise I received on that thread, but I DID notice there were a couple snobs, and someone was so rude to one of the commenters that the poor member went back and deleted all of their posts... very sad. And I posted this particular question since I JUST found out what a CUC is, and since I’ve been researching everyday, people keeping talking about a “reproductive CUC for consumption” so yeah... I’m researching. I’m doing my homework “Brody.” And I actually tried googling and YouTubing this, and came up with nothing. That’s why I thought I could post a question on here. Silly me... I’m very disheartened by the way some people treat beginners on this platform. Go be rude somewhere else... meanwhile, I’ll be “doing my homework” so no need to be “concerned.” Good day.

Thank you for your non judgmental advise. It’s going to be months before I get him. I literally just learned what a CUC is and I’ve heard a lot about a “reproductive CUC for consumption” so I’m just doing my homework.

If being nice makes me a snowflake, then a snowflake be I. Not sure why people can’t just ask honest questions and get nice informative replies. There’s no need to act like a snob or a jerk. But, I guess it’s just cool to be rude.. I’m behind on latest trends.

Youre fine, I think they were under the impression you had the chameleon already. You get use to the banter. Just look for the information in between the joke posts ;)

Thanks Len but no, I was an ass on this one. I usually write my posts and then come back and edit the ass*ole parts out. I skipped that step on this one since I’m on vacation and I was in a rush.

My apologies Loki, you made it sound like you already had a Cham.

I made an assumption and made an ass of myself, I can admit that.

So no, my concern wasn’t that you were using this platform as it was intended to be(asking questions). My concern was that you already had one and hadn’t even bothered to do enough research to know what a CUC is or that it wasn’t a legitimate food source.

So back on topic, no a clean up crews job is to eat poop and clean the viv, not feed your Cham.
