Are chemelons similar to birds in the fact that they should not be exposed to teflon fumes and perfumes and candles, I mean I dont use perfume or candles what about teflon.

Not really. You are talking about an animal that has to eat its body weight per day, vs and animal that has to eat that per month.
Cham lungs do get irritated more from scented candles, But they are not very good at being a canary in a coal mine.
Plus very hot teflon is no good for anyone. If you are cooking at 450-475 in a teflon pan, you are getting just as hurt as the bird, just the bird is going to drop sooner.

Ok thanks we have teflon but use it appropriately and have the kitchen fan on when cooking as well as keeping doors closed.
