HIGHLY considering purchasing Johnstonii pair.

Ok, so this thread is about 2 years old and I just thought Id revive it. People seem to have had more success with them recently, lets see whats been going on in the Johnstonii world. I have spoken to a few breeders in Germany that also recommended the fan thing, I also found the Chameleons of Africa atlas to be extremely helpful in figuring out climate conditions and behavior of the species.

I bought 2 wc gravid females last summer. They both died egg bound.
I removed the eggs and incubated them, half died the first month the rest went full term but didn't pip. I cut them out of the eggs but they were dead.

Sorry to hear that. I wish someone could breed these guys. If anyone could I would have put money on you. Think about trying again.....

I too got a pair last year... The male died after three weeks, got 6 good eggs from the female, she then died shortly there after! In 2 1/2 months the eggs started to pip then died!!!??? I had dealt with Johnstons back in the 90s and had a lot more success then!

I will get a 2.3 group, probably next week *fingerscrossed* ;)
As you are getting CB ones the chances to get parasite free ones are very high. I would recommend for them a cool place without any visual contact to other chams. And a dripper. I think this is one of the most important things for keeping them
