High Ambient Temperatures

I know that a chameleon should be able to warm or cool it's body temperature in it's enclosure when it feels it should. But what do you do when the ambient temperatures are high where you don't even need a basking light on? Today it hit 101 deg where I live. The A/C was broken in my apartment and the indoor temp was about 91 deg, What would be the best thing to do in this situation? I obviously can't get the ambient temps to provide a cooling spot in the cage. and if my A/C was working, wouldn't that reduce humidity along with the temp?

I'm with you. Gonna be hot tomorrow too. I turn off all the heat....i turn on fans and i mist them down several more times a day than normal. I don't have A/C on the coast but I would imagine it lowers the humidity. When it's hot, Chams and my other Reptiles need to stay hydrated to tolerate the heat.

Good advise! No basking light needed. I live in a hot climate and AC is a must! Good mistings usually keep the humidity up. Some keepers use a humidifier.

Its like 105 in vegas and the air works but not great at that temp so I removed my heat lamp and put in a compact florecent that give little heat off
