Cage is good.
PLease remove that water bowl on the floor.
IF its to catch water, put a plant there.
If its for drinking, your cham more than likely wont drink from it, as chams like dripping water, not standing water.

I only see one light... You should ahve two, a uvb, and a basking.

I am noticing you only have one light on top of the cage which seems VERY bright. What are you using? Is it both UVB and UVA? From the second pic it looks as if the bulb is inside the cage????? If so, not good! and welcome to the forums! Is he always brown like that?

Thanks guys. I have a home made driver system for water plus I mist. The light is a reptisun uvb bulb and it's just barely hanging inside the cage. There is a heat bulb ( home bulb) behind it. I might try putting a plant there to catch water. He was brown because I had just handled him. He usually is a yellow/light tan. Matches the wood of the cage and is just now showing some green. The light looks bright because I took it in the dark before I shut it down for the night.

You should not have lights inside your cage.
Your cham can crawl on it and could get burned.
If you do not remove that water bowl, he could fall in and drown.
There has already been a thread in the last couple days of a persons whose cham fell in and nearly died from inhaling water.

Well like I said the lights are barley in the cage and are a good distance away from him that there is not a way he can reach them at his age/size. Thanks for the info though. Will use a plant ti catch water instead of shallow bowel.

what is the top of your cage made of? Screen? If so, he can climb the sides to get to the top and hang from the screen top and get burned that way.

No the top is wood. He can not climb the top. I know this for a fact as I have seen him try when I first got him. He is unable.

Hello, welcome to the forums! Your cage looks great. Did you build it? Excellent job with the foliage and vines.

I do have a question about the top - if it's made of wood, how are you ensuring that it won't catch on fire from the heat light?

Hey thanks. The cage is home made. It was an iguana cage. The top has a cut out for the light nut don't touch it. The domes don't get too hot either. Never had an issue with wood getting hot.

You should not keep two chams in the same cage.
especially females and males.
This causes breeding, and the more you breed her, the shorter her life can be.

I know a male and female will breed. Which is ok to me but a little unsure of what to do with babies. We have a local reptile show about ever month and a half I could try to sell some at. I dunno yet. Just was thinking about it. Not 100%

He's a cute little guy! Your cage looks good, you must have done your research ahead of time! If you get a female you'll need another cage though as they shouldn't be kept together unless it is a much bigger area. Chameleons are easily stressed by each other and the male will always be trying to breed with her. Boys will be boys.

The cage is about 3.5 ft by 2ft. I think it might be ok when smaller. Boys will be boys and don't want to stress her out. May hold off for a bit till I can put together another cage. He is still a young guy I thinkif I get a female she will be young as well.

That cage is adequate, for an adult. not for two adults.
Your boy is already too big for a companion.
Im not sure on female jacs, but female panthers and veileds can start laying at 6 months old.
It is not recommended you keep two chams together unles you plan to breed. and you only do it then to let them copulate, then you seperate again.
