i am helping my room mate with his chameleon, i told him i would do some research about a question he decided to ask me when i dont even own a chameleon! since im such a good room mate i told him i would look up his question while he cleans there cages. i looked up his question on google but got no answers but found this forum so i am going to ask here. he has 2 chameleons one is a 14 month old male jackson and a 16 month old female jackson(they are not from the same clutch or breeder). he just got his female yesterday from a frend that breeds reptiles. when we went for his female jacksons yesterday his frend told us she just had babies last month(march 28) so she is probably not ready to breed, so his question is when will she be ready to breed again? he wants to start breeding when she is ready but wants to know when will she be able to breed again so he knows how much time he has to learn about breeding and what he needs and all that. he does know how to take care of them but wants to know about the babies. im sure i will eventually ask another question on here when he starts to purchas what he needs but first wants to know how long he has to wait befor he can breed her again.

Personally I don't think there is a specific time to wait, but you should give the chameleon plenty of time to recover. Gestation and delivery are energetically costly - for this reason, after delivery I make sure my females get plenty of food (also fattier feeders I would not use often otherwise), calcium and sunlight to restore their energy reserves. Only when they are clearly healthy and well do I consider breeding thence again. Personally I would space gestations by at least one year; I would definitely not breed a female before at least 6 months have elapsed from the previous delivery.

just wanna add that it's possible she might get pregnant again before he even breeds them. jackson females have been known to retain sperm for multiple clutches. i have a few jacksons but don't yet have breeding experience, but i would say 6 months would be good for her to recuperate.

how long has your friend been keeping chameleons? I would suggest if not for long, even if the female were ready to breed again, that he masters keeping them healthy for a year or so before he considers breeding.

how many clutches do they have per mating? if she does have more then one clucthes from just one mating when will she lay her next clutch?
how long does it take to find out weather she is going to have more clutches or not?

he said he has had his male that is 15 months old since she was 2 months old and that is his first cham so he has owned one chameleon for 13 months. the female has been with him for only about a week.
he has already done some research. he has not told me anything negative about breeding, he still wants to breed as far as i know. sooner or later he will know excacly what it takes to breed a chameleon and he can still decide if he still wants to breed her or not befor he even attempts to let them mate.
