honestly ive been wanting a Chameleon for years now it all started when i went to pet smart and saw the cute little guy touching the glass looking at me but I hesitated and did other animals like a breaded dragon, hedgehog, hamster, guinea pig ive done a lot of research on these cool animals but never really bought a Chameleon because i always hesitated but now im really considering to buy one of these cool guys but i also have some questions like which type of Chameleons should i get and like should i get a male or female i just need some tiny bit of help!!

If you get a male you don't have to worry about egg laying issues.
In my experience most of the time Panther males are more docile than veileds...but it's not always true. Panther or veileds are likely best fo a first time chameleon owner.

Be sure you read up on the husbandry on here first.
@Beman can you give the OP some links please?

Here are links for you. I would read through this entire husbandry program. Chameleons are not cheap and require specific care. https://chameleonacademy.com/chameleon-husbandry-program-getting-started-with-chameleons/

Additionally everything on this website is accurate. The podcasts will give you a ton of info as well https://chameleonacademy.com/

I would also see if you have a local vet that actually knows how to treat exotics like chameleons. This is good because a dog/cat vet will not know how to care for a cham.
