Sorry I havent posted anything lately.. I've been lurking around and reading up on ya'll's post. My veiled chameleon is doing good!:) I will take pictures of him in the morning, since he's sleeping..
I do have a few questions..

1. how often should I hold him? And for how long?

2. free range? can somebody explain this? what should i do, and how long?

3. how do i keep a pothos plant alive? lol, mines slowly dying... i think.. the leaves are turning more white towards the top.. i mist the tank several times a day... Should i water the plant? if so, how often?

4. what else besides crickets can i feed my veiled chameleon?

5. If i bring him in his enclosure that he is in... can i bring him outside on my patio to get some real sunshine?

6. how many crickets on average does a veiled chameleon eat?

7. do you guys have problems of your crickets dying in the chameleon's tank? I don't know how they die, but they do... Doesnt make sense.

8. how would i get a humidifer to work with the cage..? Would i just set it next to the cage? or would i attach a tube somehow and have it point at the cage?

9. when i put crickets in his cage.. they always go to the bottom of the tank... but im not sure if she gets to eat them.. i dont find any at the end of the day.. so i assume she eats them. Ive seen poop on the plants.. so shes eating..

10. i dont think i have anymore questions:)

As little as possible - Unless you are really really familiar with all the subtle signs of stress. Others are going to tell you to handle him all the time, to get him used to you. You'll have to decide what's best for your animal (which may be opposed to what you'd prefer). Each chameleon has a different temperment. Some tolerate handling far better than others.

2. free range? can somebody explain this? what should i do, and how long?
free-range usually means the animal doesnt live in a cage. It has a room/area with plants and lights, and roams that area at will.

3. how do i keep a pothos plant alive? lol, mines slowly dying... i think.. the leaves are turning more white towards the top.. i mist the tank several times a day... Should i water the plant? if so, how often?
white? thats unusual. or do you mean yellow? Are they near the heat bulb / getting burned? This plant doesnt need a great deal of light. THey are drought and wet tolerant, but yes certainly you should water it periodically.

4. what else besides crickets can i feed my veiled chameleon?
they should be fed a wide variety of prey. Lots of choices, from silkworms to roaches to butterworms to terrestrial isopods... Try to offer at least 5 choices, with no single feeder prey type making up more than 50% of the diet. Here's a list:

5. If i bring him in his enclosure that he is in... can i bring him outside on my patio to get some real sunshine?
sure, if the move doesnt stress him and if he has enough space to move out of the sun if he wants and if the temps outside are right.

6. how many crickets on average does a veiled chameleon eat?
depends on the age/size of the chameleon and the size of the crickets.

7. do you guys have problems of your crickets dying in the chameleon's tank? I don't know how they die, but they do... Doesnt make sense.
tank? what do you mean? lets hope you dont mean fish tank. chameleons arent fish!
crickets dont live all that long, and they need food and minimal warmth to survive.

8. how would i get a humidifer to work with the cage..? Would i just set it next to the cage? or would i attach a tube somehow and have it point at the cage?
depends on how much humidity you actually need. I think its best to keep the whole room at the minimum humidity, and mist spray to bump it up periodically/as needed, along with drippers for hydration.

9. when i put crickets in his cage.. they always go to the bottom of the tank... but im not sure if she gets to eat them.. i dont find any at the end of the day.. so i assume she eats them. Ive seen poop on the plants.. so shes eating..
I wouldnt assume she/he is eating all of them. You should be sure they are all eaten or removed before lights out. Perhaps you should bowl feed, if you cant watch to ensure all are eaten free-range. At the very least, put something in the cage near the bottom for the crickets to eat so that any you fail to remove are less likely to chew on the sleeping defenseless chameleon.

10. i dont think i have anymore questions:)
But you will :) we all do :)

I will try to handle him, but if he does any sign of not wanting to, ill put him back:) i havent tried to hold him since i got him... wait just once i tried thats about it.

And haha you got me, more yellowish too. sorry, was late at night and didnt get to look at the leaves right.

with feeders, can they eat superworms? because i also have hungry beardies.. so i can buy a bulk:)

and yes he will have shade and space to move around. its his enclosure he's in now.

and yeah i guess thats true, all based on how much he can eat...

yeahh i cant really bump up the humidity in the whole room... quite awkward room to do that with.

and i sure will start doing that!!:)

Thank you for helping me!!

Here are some pictures!!

The pictures make him alot larger than he looks... just fyi.

yes they can eat superworms, but be careful as many tend to want to eat them and nothing else then!!. I would use them maybe not as an everday feeder so he does not get spoiled with them and you can gutload them like crickets. Also, I would try and add some branches that are horizontal in the cage. He should have a branch about 8 inches under the basking light where he can bask and make sure it is sturdy. I am refering to your chameleon as a "he" does he have little points or spurs on the back of his back heels? If not, then you have a female. Maybe you know this already but just wanted to point this out as if you do end up with a female you will need a laying bin a little later down the road as they can lay infertile eggs.

yeah maybe like every 3 days or so?

and alright.. how do you think i could add horizontal branches? i dont want it to rip my screen lol:p

and no, she doesnt have any spurs.. could somebody post a picture of a male with spurs and a female without spurs?

and yep, i know that i will have to put a bin down..

you can search tarsal spurs and there are pics posted showing them. yeah, every three days or so is good. I made the mistake of giving them at every feeding and then my chameleon decided that was all he wanted. They are high in fat and probably taste like steak as compared to a cricket that tastes like hamburger! lol you can wedge the brances in and then on the outside take a push pin to secure the branch. It works great and will not harm your screen. your enclosure looks very nice by the way. :)

ahaha nice comparison!:) I'd rather be eating the steak than the burger!! lol:D

But, good idea... good idea. Will go outside and look for some twigs or something:)

But, do you think the pathos plant is too big? is it too much for the tank? or should i get rid of the pathos plant?

i didnt read all the comments but if you do get a humidifier get a ultrasonic cool mist humidifier where you could get a pvc pipe to slide in, then you can just cut pvc to the height of the cage then make it elbow in then a set a timer for it to go off every so often (dont have it run all the time as it does make a wet mess at the bottom of the cage and on your floor.)
