Wow! Great pics! Fishing is by far my favorite hobby. I fish for trout and bass in the spring and summer, salmon and steelhead from late summer and all winter. Here's a few pics of some of my catches and my smoker all fired up full of Pink Salmon fillets

Weather has been crazy warm here lately, got into the 60's last week. Got out a pole and tied on a roadrunner and hit one of the retention ponds in my neighborhood and caught a largemouth in February! Had snow and ice on the pond here last week. Love smallmouth and largemouth and bluegill also.

Fishing "Over the Years"

Here are a few pictures taken over the years of my bestest fishing buddy and myself. My wife will outfish me.....MOST of the time, but not always. These pictures were taken from the mountains of West Virginia to the shores of North Carolina and I even through in a Salmon trip to Lake Michigan.

I guess you could say.......We love to fish.

My wife's very first trout, she caught it in the Blackwater River here in WV.

Another trip to the Blackwater River.

A pretty nice yellowfin tuna that my wife caught. She won the "lady angler" trophy for this one in a tournament.

A charter out of Hatteras, North Carolina. Again..........the wife showed us how it was done.

Hatteras, North Carolina and the wife........once again with another nice mahi-mahi.

One day's fishing out of Hatteras, North Carolina. This is what 450 lbs. of mahi-mahi looks like. Needless to say.........we had MANY good meals from this trip.

That's all for now.........I'll see if I can't dig up a few more later.

Wow, you people really make me want to go fishing. I havnt been in ages. I just moved to NC, I think I will have to try this ocean fishing. Looks like you had fun with it Winterhawk;)

What the heck, I see posts about all kinds of other stuff how 'bout fishing. I've done tons of fishing in So. Cal and also in Baja. Caught lot's of big fish.

Speak up, post pictures if you got'em. Watch out for the treehuggers though.:D
Lol ok i didnt bother to read the replies so i dont know where the direction of this post went but..... Hell yeah im a so.cal. Avid angler. #2 of my hobbies (herps being #1) i used to fish mostly yucaipa. jenx lake. lake perris. Ford park. Bear creek. Loch leven. A lil in big bear. Hesperia. Fishermans retreat. Skinner. But now that im in o.c. I mostly fish the piers and jedis. And i go out with davies locker/newport landing.

Woah, you fish with Jedis? :D
Unfortunatly the offshore fishing in So Cal has sucked for the last three years. Last year was one of the worst Marlin years in decades. Sure hope we see some improved fishing this year. Someone I know caught a 41# halibut a couple days ago. That's a toad for here.

Thats y they closed a decent chunk of oc shore line. No fishing at all. Its been depleted. But i dont know why anyone would bother marlin fishing in so.cal. Mexico is so close and way better when going for big game like marlin, tuna, dorado, yellow tail......etc.
A guy i worked with went on a 3 day tuna trip and only 2 tuna were caught on the whole trip! Its been depleated round here.

here are a few pics of the last trip me and my brother and dad took. the first pis is of the monster i caught took almost an hour to reel it in and the second is my baby bro showing the love!!! xoxoxoxox

Here's one of me the big fella. This was this past August on the most recent family trip to BC. I'm with a Tyee King (30 lb or more salmon) I caught.

I don't really agree with you here. If the offshore fishing has been slow IMO it is due to a couple things. One is severe overfishing IN Mexican waters. If you have fished below the border then you know what I'm talking about. Two, It could be cyclical. There are always years that are better than others. Oh and also the cooler water temps have a big effect on Pelagics.

As far as inshore fishing and MLPA's Well that is mostly your environmental wackos having their way with our right to fish. Don't get me wrong if the spots need to be protected or stricter limits need to be put on recreational fishermen I'm all for it but closing down all of Laguna......What a Joke.

We fish Marlin here because that's where our boats are. I have caught many Marlin in Mex. but it takes a lot of time and effort to take a trailer boat down there.
