Hey Kendra!!!

Cute lil guy you got there...

I would have to guess he is a Blue Bar Ambilobe, but that is by no means 100%. As he gets older you will get a better idea. Truth be told..Unless you can get ReptileDepot to confirm his locale... you will never be sure. If you ever breed him in the future be sure you disclose that the Sire is "believed to be _". While he looks like one thing, I know that Reptile depot sells quite a few Crosses, and you can never be sure. Nothing wrong with a cross though...My fav cham Ambilobe/Nosy cross, and his younger pics look a lot like your guy(see McLovin in my Albums. One thing is for sure You have a healthy looking little panther there. Congrats!!!

~Joe

oh how did you purchase him and not knowing what type he is? It doesn't say on the website? Paying three hundred bucks for a mystery chameleons.. you are wild!! haha but hey he is amazing tho!!

they said

well they told me he was an ambilobe but then again he is a pet store baby who knows right the they showed me a pic that they claimed was the sire but who knows and his colors where amazing to me so worth it

300?! sheesh! I am not a fan of Reptile Depot. If I lived close I would buy supplies but not animals. I feel the same about LLL Reptile. The attention to detail in the care they provide isn't anywhere near as good as a breeder. When I was at LLL a couple weekends ago they had three dead veileds in one cage......... We had to go and tell them. You would think someone is checking on the cham's food supply and misting often enough during the day that they wouldn't miss something like three dead chams.

Your guy looks great! sorry to rant about LLL and Reptile Depot. I would check with them and try to get a hatch date and nail down his local so you have a better idea of what you have. If you do breed him, like Joe said, let the people know who buy from you that you aren't 100% on his origins. It might even be a good idea to see if they'll tell you the breeder they got him from. That way you don't breed him with his sister, cousin or mother:eek:.

Congrats and good luck!

I agree

Its totally fine I'm not a fan either I went out there to see if I could get a cage for a some family friends who where Getting some chams and couldnt drive out there but I saw him and he was to handsome to be left there they dont care for their animals even the guy there was new and said he didn't know which cage had chams in it and which where empty... Now I work at a pet store in the dog rescue and I even know which reptile cages are empty and which have animals ..... And even so he's more a pet then anything I'll try to find out but chances are I won't get a for sure answer oh well he's happy And has a huge appitie so he is doing well and that's what matters but I am trying to find a vet near me so I can get fecal test done I live in Ventura county ca anyone know one?????

It's probably an amilobe,

is this the picture they showed you(without the words)?

They have it posted on the baby panther cage(bought a box of crix there today)

I straight up asked them if the got it from screameleons because I recognized the pic. One of the younger guys said "i belive so". They could just be using the pic to sell though as it was posted on the cage with their last shipment as well.
