i give him repcal calcium and multivit.
idk... i hope hes okay.
he not acting sick. i know eyes shut during day time is not good.
but hope hes alright. ive done my best to care for him in everyway.

Chameleon - Male Veiled, its about 4-5 months, ive had it for over a month now
Handling - maybe twice a week
Feeding - Mainly crickets, treats are meal worms or wax worms. He'll eat 6-7 crickets per feeding 2 times a day. the crickets are gut loaded with Zilla Gut Load. I throw in a potato for moisture
Supplements - Rep Cal Calcium w/ D3 and Rep Cal MultiVit: usually about once or twice a weak
Watering - I mist with a spray bottle for about 1-2 min, 2 times a day. ill occasionally put ReptiSafe, i know its not mandatory. I use a milk gal as a dripper (It is clean) and I have seen him drink plenty.
Fecal Description - His poop and urates are pretty much perfect i think. His poop is brown and urates are white
He has not been tested for parasites
History - The little guy acts normal. he doesnt seem weak. when he sees his food he'll come at it. he moves around and about during the day. i have noticed that when he closes his eyes, its almost like he closes his eyes cause he likes the heat or something, ya know. its never at some hidden place away from the light or else where. idk...

is he only doing it under the basking light? If so, I would change out the bulb for like a 60 watt. The temp could be too hot for him. Most people bask their veild babies in the low 80's. Also you need a plain calcium without d3 and should be using that at all the feedings and the d3 just a couple times a month.

low 80s?
if its too hot for him wouldnt he move else wear... idk
everything i been reading and hearing says: basking should be atleast 90s
im not sure of using just calcium im afraid it will just build up.
i like knowing the d3 is there to help the process.

but what do i know this is my first chameleon, and i wanna take care of it and see it grow.

Is pure cal unnecessary?
and do i really need to lower the basking temp?

Calcium with D3 and multivitamin should only be given around twice a month. This is so they don't receive too much of certain vitamins and get sick. Plain calcium without D3 should be used everyday. Calcium is needed to keep their bones strong and help them grow, it will prevent things like metabolic bone disease.

Not completely sure about temperatures. I think what carol5208 was trying to say is that younger chameleons (only a few months old) may not be able to handle as much heat as bigger chameleons. How close is your heat lamp to the spot your cham can sit? Maybe post some pics of your enclosure and chameleon if possible so others can get a sense of your chams area.

Younger chams need lower temps.
YOUr chameloen can OD on d3. the plain calcium without d3 does not 'build up' in their system, but the d3 does.

stop using it so much!!!
