we have a Jackson Chameleon and today he hasn't seemed right. This morning after i fed him (crickets) he went to catch one and missed and then he ended up puking up a cricket. then all day he just didn't seem right, he was hanging weird and sleeping most of the day. He seems real lethargic. he has the proper housing, food, lighting and water. I don't know what i should do or if there is anything i can do. The only thing that has changed is that my husband put in a sterilite plastic container under the live plant that we have in his cage about 3-4 days ago. Up till today he had been eating and drinking fine. Please help.

I just wanted to say that it's probably not some sudden change. It's most likely that he's been hiding the problem. That's sort of a "prey animal" thing to do. It's not to their advantage to let on that they're doing badly, so they hide it until they are no longer able to.

I just wanted to say that it's probably not some sudden change. It's most likely that he's been hiding the problem. That's sort of a "prey animal" thing to do. It's not to their advantage to let on that they're doing badly, so they hide it until they are no longer able to.
age is approx. maybe 6 months...we have had him for about 2-3 (he's my husbands)
we very rarely handle him unless needed for the cage cleaning.
He eats crickets that are gut loaded and he puts some calcium powder on them also.
We have a fogger hooked up in there for him and we spray in there alot through the day (we have a temp and humidity gauge we watch closely.
His droppings have looked the same as always, a brownish clump. No he has never been tested.
He is in a all screened cage, I am unsure of what the brand of lights are (zoomed or exotera) but my husband did all the research and has the right kind and amount that is needed.
There is live and fake plants in there. to be honest i don't remember what the kind is (it has larger leaves) we looked that up also and it was a kind that was recommended for them.
The cage is located probably about 3 feet up from the floor, there is a ceiling fan but he has always had a ceiling fan by, we are located in MN and not very high traffic, mostly me and my husband my kids don't go over in that area usually and they are older. He is by a window if that makes any difference.
To be honest i didnt know if he would make it through the night, but he is still alive, still on the bottom of the cage though. He seems very unsteady in his balance

Do you only use crickets as a feeder? Calcium powder with or with out d3? Do you offer d3 or a multivitamin?

Him problem can be caused by several things, so it's important to fll out the form with as much info as possible.
Pictures are also a very big help.
If u dont have a camera, see if u can borrow one.

I hate to be a pill, but the brand and type of bulbs being used is very important. Ditto on the supplements. There's a lot of inaccurate information floating about on the internet and in pet stores, so "right" and "normal" are terms that don't always mean the same to us as they do to you.
If you don't still have the boxes, you should be able to look at the bases of the bulbs to see who made them, what power they are, etc.
If all else fails, pictures of the bulbs can be helpful.
You did not describe the cage. Is it glass? Screen? a combo?
I'd also really like a picture of the plant because there's a lot of misinformation out there about what is, in fact, safe.
