help! :'(

She is correct. Just use a house bulb that will keep the temps to the low-mid 80's F. I have to use a 50watt heat bulb to achieve this, but each is different.

Unfortunately for you; otherwise for your chameleon, the green bulb should be replaced with a 50-75 watt heat bulb, since your temps are too low. His basking area should be 80-85 degrees Fahrenheit. 25c is only 77f, so you need to adjust that according.

Just to make it all clear, lizzleberry said the basking temp was 30C, which is 86F (more than enough for a baby cham). The green light is a waste, but shouldn't be worse than a regular bulb........I'm pretty sure? And tube uv is better than coil, but most coils are ok now........
No extra heat or light needed at night.

Isn't he cute. I wanted to mention something about the pvc pipe/mesh cages. You can use flexible material (like soft plant tie or rubber coated wire) to create fake vines and branches to give your chameleon extra places to walk. There's plenty of room to wrap the vine material around the pvc pipe. So, you can anchor it to one pipe then take it across the cage and up or down, then anchor it again. You could even go from one top pipe across the cage to the other side, then hang a plant from the vine.

This product (or something similar) works great:

On neither of the three pages on the thread does he mention 30*C... The highest number is 27*.

30* would be ideal.

hi, i actually have this great stuff in there from netpet shop, its this bendy jungle vine stuff, it's pretty long and the right thickness for pascal to wonder across, i have used the piping to twist it round, and it bends over plants as well, an it was pretty cheap on netpetshop :D feels like a vines and everything (very proud of that find)

will a chameleon be curious of a new plant?
yesterday i introduced a small but wide "coleus caninus" which i havent attached any vines or branches to, without thinking i would need to. and pascal seems a bit obsessed with it, he keeps wondering down, im still not sure if he is too hot, but he seems quite happy at the top as well, and every time i catch him at the bottom, he is looking at this new plant, even right now i can see him slowly decending from his hiding place towards this addition x)
do you think he is curious?

are all baby chameleons a bit slow at climbing?
he can be quick when he's seen a cricket, but a few hours ago he went a bit too fast and fell from his tree (still holding the leaf)
i have no idea how to react to that one, he seems ok now, just a bit brown. im going to leave him alone for the rest of the day after i go out, he's still wondering around slowly, i dont want to try and catch him to check for injuries but as far as i can tell he is ok :/
is everyone this panicky with their first baby, or is it just me? :(

I think everyone is a bit of a nervous new parent. They're usually okay after a fall, but do keep an eye on him. They seem to go on all speeds, from super slow mo you almost can't see to darting away in the blink of an eye.

They also seem to have issues with seeing close up. I think it's because their eyesight is designed to let them accurately shoot their tongues at things far in front of them. Consequently, they often seem to "feel their way" around, especially as they get used to new things in their area.

You should get any "basking lamp" from your local petco. Zoo-med is what i use. Nice and warm for him to bask in.
And yes, i would get a ficus to give him more to climb in

hey, ive heard that ficus plants are good but i have yet to find one in b&q, maybe ill get lucky on market day
will this plant be strong enough to hold a chameleon? after pascals fall this morning i am starting to doubt my lilac tree a bit, so i need nice strong plants, ideally plants that have small roots and need small pots so less room is taken up at the bottom of my flex. has anyone used laurel? i didnt see it on the list of "chameleon safe plants" so i didnt buy any, but as far as a plant goes it looks like a good one, but then all these lists seem to be a bit different so ill go by word of experience
