grrr im so angry since i bought two chams from someone everything is going down hill the two i bought both died and now my first cham my beloved panther has got really watery feces i think this is a bad sign which is why im asking for help as im really concerned and im will not loose him even if it costs me all i have :(

If money is not an issue, perhaps a check-up at the vet is in order. Have you taken a fresh sample of the watery poop to your vet to have it examined for parasites? What other symptoms is your chameleon displaying? What did the other two die from?

were the two chameleons you bought ever in contact with your panther? They might have had parasites and spread it. Watery poop can also be a symptom of dehydration or over-hydration. How much water does your panther drink?

Dropping a fecal off isn't too expensive.
Goodluck.

he hasnt fed for two days but that is it.

the other two one had an eye infection and never ate for the 8 days i had him and the vets found nothing else wrong when i took him too her but i was going to get a fecal sample for him but he died before my appointment and the other had symptoms of gout and had roundworms but i didnt notice the worms until a few days before he died i had an appointment for the second one but he died before that i only had the second one for just over two weeks

it could possibly be over hydration as i do water him 3 times a day for near over 1 minute a time but it is a pressure spayer which comes out alot and its really fast.

and no he never came in contact with them othe than me occasionly forgetting to wash my hands between handling them

It could be what you are feeding him.

If it is worms, he could be getting less chitin than if he were to be fed crickets

That could do it though, the contact with your hands when you haven't washed. But don't get too paranoid yet. There's a possibility your cham does not have parasites either.

Does he drink every time you spray him? and misting 3 times a day is normal so that can't be it. I would just not worry and take him to the vet. Don't put unneeded stress on yourself until the vet tells you there really is something to worry about. Fred had a watery poop once but is parasite free and it never happened again. It could be nothing at all, but it is best if you go to the vet just to be sure.

i feed him locusts and he doesnt drink every time but trust me my pressurised sprayer is alot more than a mister .

also instead of taking him to the vets could i worm him myself as i really dont like the vet as she handled my last cham very roughly litterally grabbing him by the body holding him very tight.

Unless you know what the pararsite is, you cant treat it.

My vet is much more rough with my chameleons than I am. But she's never bruised one, so I assume she knows what she's about.
Still, you can take in FRESH poop for a fecal examination without taking in the chameleon. That would identify what, if any, parasites might be at play. And what treatment would then be appropriate

thats a good idea i will take in a poo sample as im sure nothing else is wrong with him as he has superb eyes and a nice colouration and rather active too:D

it is too late to make an appointment now and i will be out tommorow until late so will it harm him by not making him an appointment until wednesday or should i try to get one for him tommorw
