HELP !

So my chameleon Ivy does not look good.. It’s only been since this week that she’s been acting weird and darker than normal but i figured that part was normal because she spends nearly all her time under the heat lamp. She won’t eat anything her eyes look kinda sunk in and when she isn’t under the heat lamp which has only been like twice this week she is a dull grey ish color. She gulped down water from a drip system that was gathering on the mesh top super fast and she threw it up. it was just clear almost almost spit looking. i just don’t know what it could be it is worth mentioning that when i got her i was under the impression that she was under a ivb light but i realized that she wasn’t it was just a regular light i got her from my sister and she thought the light she had was right anyway once i realized that i got her a new uvb light an arcadia bulb that i can dim and i originally had it full on i turned it down to 50% when i noticed she was acting weird thinking maybe it was over exposure i don’t know but i’m not sure what else i can do to help

Does she have the correct uvb bulb? I see in another post the bulb could have been incorrect. It was not the T5ho it was just the t5 which is good for plants but not strong enough for chams. If not it will cause these type issues with her.

• Plants - Are you using live plants? If so, what kind? yes mainly pathos and a couple janet’s the spikey leafed green ones

yeah i’m going to take her monday i was just hoping to get some insight on any issues i might be at fault for that i could fix so that she’s stable in the future if they are able to fix whatever the issue is

yes she does now it’s dimmable i have it set to 50 we’re she went months without uvb which i didn’t know about i didn’t want to shock her system after i noticed she was acting weird i dimmed it down to 50 % it’s an Arcadia T5 6% uvb

Hello! I'm so sorry this took so long, life has been crazy busy around here. Give me a little bit and I'll go through your husbandry.

Chameleon Info:

• Feeding - What are you feeding your cham? What amount? What is the schedule? How are you gut-loading your feeders? Depending on her age will depend on how much you feed her. When she is really young you want to feed her as much as she will eat. Once she gets to be about 8 or so months old, you'll want to slowly start feeding her less. Veiled chameleons can become super charged, if we feed them lots of food and keep them at high temps their little bodies develop more eggs than they should and this becomes dangerous for our girls. Will you share a photo of her? I know you don't know her exact age but maybe someone on here can guess. As far as food goes, I'm attaching a document of good feeder bugs, most of us order our buggies online either at rainbow mealworms.com, dubia.com, frams chams.com, or other places. Super worms are basically the Snickers bar of bugs, they are very high in fat and should be fed minimally. My chameleons get their treat bugs on Saturday for example but the other days of the week they get other healthier bugs. You can feed your girl all the bugs in one go instead of spacing them out, do you have a feeder run or something you can place them in in her enclsoure? The other thing is gutloading your bugs, healthy bugs = a healthy chameleon. I'm also attaching a gut load document for you to review, I feed my bugs on the same day I feed my chameleons, Monday, Wednesday, Friday, but feel free to find a schedule that works best for you.
• Supplements - What brand and type of calcium and vitamin products are you dusting your feeders with, and what is the schedule? I use repticalcium without D3 every time i feed her and Reptivite reptile vitamins with D3 2 times a month. Perfect! Most of us do the D3 vitamins on the 1st and 15th of every month.
• Watering - What kind of watering technique do you use? How often and how long do you mist? Do you see your chameleon drinking? I must once in the morning and once before bed and i fill a solo cup twice a day for a drip system. Perfect! Do you see her drink or rush to water?
• Fecal Description - Briefly note colors and consistency from recent The droppings. Has this chameleon ever been tested for parasites? Never been tested for parasite and the Urates look mostly white with a little yellow on the end it looks normal. That is perfect! A mostly white with some yellow urate is a good sign that she is hydrated.
• History - Any previous information about your cham that might be useful to others when trying to help you. She’s never laid eggs before but she is that age and she has a laying bin. Fantastic! Can you share photos of your lay bin? What did you use for it, including substrate?

What are you using to read your temps? 80 at the basking spot is great, you don't want this to get any higher (remember higher temps and more food = supercharged veiled girl), you can also bask her at 79 degrees. I have a dimmer on my girls basking light to ensure temps don't go past that. Where is the 67 temp reading?
• Humidity - What are your humidity levels? How are you creating and maintaining these levels? What do you use to measure humidity? Answered about and a idk a little temperature gauge thing. Humidity is a little high for a veiled, you'll want it to be closer to 40-30% during the day. At night you want her humidity to be as close to 100% as you can possibly get. Turn the light back to full strength. UVB is ESSENTIAL for her body to do what it needs to do. You've gotten some other good advice, but I agree - vet visit is the most important. Were you able to get her in?

Yea they couldn’t really tell me anything they said that my husbandry was good so they couldn’t really see a direct cause.. the prescribed her a liquid diet and ceftimizide because they said she had a little mucus or something in her mouth but her colors r worrying me
