Cage Info:
- Cage Type - Describe your cage (Glass, Screen, Combo?) What are the dimensions? It’s The biggest reptibreeze cage they sell. What is it called? The XL reptibreeze? Can you measure it for me?
- Lighting - What brand, model, and types of lighting are you using? What is your daily lighting schedule? It’s an arcadia Luminize Pro T5 UVB Kit D3+Forest 6% UVB sits on top of the mesh. Perfect!! You'll want to change this bulb out every 12 months. If you do not have a Solar meter to read the UV levels I would suggest changing it out every 11 months to be safe.
- Temperature - What temp range have you created (cage floor to basking spot)? Lowest overnight temp? How do you measure these temps? the basking spot is right around 80 Middle way thru 67 and the humidity is 63%. What are you using to read your temps? 80 at the basking spot is great, you don't want this to get any higher (remember higher temps and more food = supercharged veiled girl), you can also bask her at 79 degrees. I have a dimmer on my girls basking light to ensure temps don't go past that. Where is the 67 temp reading?
- Humidity - What are your humidity levels? How are you creating and maintaining these levels? What do you use to measure humidity? Answered about and a idk a little temperature gauge thing. Humidity is a little high for a veiled, you'll want it to be closer to 40-30% during the day. At night you want her humidity to be as close to 100% as you can possibly get. Most of us accomplish this with a fogger.
- Plants - Are you using live plants? If so, what kind? yes mainly pathos and a couple janet’s the spikey leafed green ones. Can you share photos? I've not heard of the last two. Veiled chameleons tend to eat the plants in their enclosure so you will want to make sure that everything in there is safe for her to eat. I'm attaching a document with plants we know are safe in the community.
- Placement - Where is your cage located? Is it near any fans, air vents, or high-traffic areas? At what height is the top of the cage relative to your room floor? Top of cage is probably like 5 foot 7 or 5 foot 8 it’s taller than me there is a vent under it off to the side and it’s by a curtained window i have fake ivy covering the sides on the outside of the cage to give her privacy. Good, I like that she is up high. I am concerned with the vent and window, cold air or hot air blasing could mess up temps in her enclosure. With the window the sun beating in may also mess with temps
- Location - Where are you geographically located? i’m in virginia we have very mild temperatures and humidity here it’s considered to be in the goldilocks zone
Looking at a photo of your girl it seems her eyes are sunken in? Can you share a photo of her today?
