Ok my valid has been opening his mouth a lot should I be worried ? An he is near a window that is direct light every day

What’s the temps? It’s probably that he’s too hot if not getting defensive with you

Right now they are 79 in the cage hot spot 85 an he has a good ray of sun that beams on the cage just thought it would be good for the plants but he does this alot when he near the window basing got me worried

Is it only when basking, or is he also gaping when out of his basking spot/out of the direct sun?

Like I said he is near direct sunlight constantly so technically he is baking pretty much all day so to answer your question I really can’t give a straight answer but I’m experiment an see what happens when I blind the light from the window an see what he does

Move his cage out of the direct sun. He needs to be able to get away from the heat.

Ok moved him an still doin it but now is in shed I’m thinking Mabe this had something to do with it

When it's too hot my female veiled does that. Whenever I see her doing it I just turn her light off and then she stops.
