Pascal is my first chameleon. She is a veiled and about 10 months old. This might seem stupid but I don’t know if she is egg bound or constipated. She hasn’t eaten in about 5 days but lives under the mister. She lays half way off the branch on her belly and seems to be pushing. Can someone help me identify?

Female veiled
10 months old
She eats crickets, meal worms, and super worms
I use Calcium d3 powder weekly
She has a mister and a fountain
Her cage is sprayed twice per day
The cage is screened and 3 ft tall
She has never been tested for parasites
I put a nesting bed at bottom of cage yesterday
Her stool is white and yellow but haven’t seen any in a couple of days

Has she ever laid for you before? How long has she been protruding from the vent for? Some of your answers are too vague and more info is needed to better help you. How many insects do you feed? Are you dusting with plain calcium every feeding or only calcium+d3 once a week?

She has never laid before. She get 9 crickets, 2 super worms, and just started her on mealworms but hasn’t eaten those yet due to whatever she has going on. She has been protruding for 3 days now. And she gets regular calcium every other day and d3 once per week. That’s what the vet had told me to do about 4 months ago.

She's not going to be able to lay them with that prolapse blocking her vent. She needs a vet asap.
The longer you leave her the weaker she's going to get.

Soaked her in warm water.

Nice job...hope it doesn't come back out. A sugar solution will take swelling down too. Still don't know if it will stay in when she tries to lay eggs. I would still check with a vet.

What is your supplement schedule? Misting schedule?

If and when she lays her eggs, she will need sufficient hydration and proper supplementation. Developing the eggs, fertile or not, takes its toll on their bodies nutrient wise.

I give her 2 drips of calcium a day. She has a mister in her cage that runs all day and a fountain. I spray once in the mornings and one in the evenings. She has mealworms, crickets, strawberries and pears. She mostly hangs by her arms on her branch under the mister and pushes.
