I'm going to try to explain this as clear as possible:
First I should say Tony has just been to the vet and was awarded a clean bill of health. Both yesterday and today his poop was nice and healthy. His lungs good. No shaky limbs. I believe he is about to go through a shed. I believe he turned a year in September or October, I got him in January.
My issue:
The last couple of days (maybe two) I have noticed that when I walk into the room he's in I've seen him at the front of his cage with his back leg looking liking it is trying to grab onto his front. However he'll keep the front one up and out of the way so he can't grab himself. I attributed this to his plant leaves being in the way of his walking sticks so I moved some of the leaves/branches out of he way so he might have more of a clear path. But then again today just now I saw him doing the same thing with his front arm still lifted so his back leg won't grab itself. It sort of looks like he was trying to get off shed but he's not shedding. And this time when I was observing him he grabbed the side of his self and held on for a second but let go immediately when I opened his cage door. His grip in all of his limbs seem strong, the vet even said so himself. Currently he's on a hunger strike, not out of illness but out of stubbornness, he only wants to eat worms (this is my fault though sometimes I go over board with the worms).
I originally thought he could be stressed out because now when I put him back in his enclosure he'll puff up for a little bit but then calm down but then maybe will puff up again if he sees me near his cage and wants to come out but I won't let him out (that makes him angry) . I thought the stress was from the beardies who he never seemed to have a problem with, but have recently being growing in size. So I put a pillow case over one side of his enclosure (the side they are housed on) just in case.
I'm sort of at my wits end in worry, but I thought maybe you guys would know something about this? Also sorry if this was more a general topic and not a health one.
Thanks.
