Help!!??

I have just received my 1, 3 month year old Panther chameleons.. But there seems to be a problem with the male.

He seems to be losing his balance because he's attaching his back left foot on to his front right foot, because of this he loses his balance and falls off the branch but even when he is on the floor he's still clutching his foot! When he falls he can't get up I therefore, have to pick him up and prise apart his feet:(:(
Yesterday we picked him up from his previous owner, the drive back was 4 hours and I'm not sure if he was affected during the trip but when I brought the tank in he was still clinging onto his branch.
So far today he has not ate anything, unlike the female who has been extremely active and eating well?

Please can somebody reply:confused::confused:
Shall I go to a vet? I don't know what to do?:(:(

Many thanks

If you post some pictures we may be able to help you.
Are the bones in his legs straight? Does it look like he has more than one elbow
Per leg? Does he eat and drink?
You could fill out the Ask for help questions.

He has not ate or drank since last night .. Do you want pics of when he clutches his leg or just him generally ?

Thanks

Should I post a new thread or can I ostensibly it on this thread.. Sorry I'm new to this.

I'm not sure how to post a pic on this .. Tonight I will post a picture of him in my album.

To post a picture, click on post reply, then look at the icons above the text window. There will be a paperclip icon. Click on it, and it will bring a window up that lets you upload pictures from your computer. Then click the paper clip icon on the original screen with the text box, after you're done uploading photos, to manage the attachments.

Don't wait too long to answer the questions in the how to ask for help thread at the top of the health forum and post a photo. Also, it would be useful to know what his insects were dusted with and fed prior to you owing it.

If your chameleon has MBD, and I don't know yet if this is true but the leg thing may be a symptom, it needs to be corrected ASAP.

You're very welcome. :) Hope your little guy feels better soon.
Yes .. I called his previous owner last night he says that Pascal is not the cleverest of chameleons when he climbs sometimes he mistakes his front foot for a branch and clings onto it .. lol
Thanks for all your help. Much appreciated :)

I wouldn't take the exowners word for that. Grabbing their own legs is sometimes a sign of MBD, like Kinyonga stated above. Grabbing himself to the point of falling isn't normal.
Do you have the Calcium with no D, Calcium with D and vitamin supplements? You definitely will need them, as well as a special UVB bulb. The UVB bulb will need to be changed out every 6 months or so, as they lose the ability to give off UVB but still give off light.
If you can, some pictures would be good.
