Help with heat for babies

Can someone please advise - i have just hatched my first clutch of Yemen Chameleons (they are just over 2 weeks old). I did a lot of reading about the set-up that they require and the general attitude towards heat lamps and light bulbs was that the heat lamp should stay on 24hrs for a while and the UV strip gets put onto a timer, turning off at night-times.
I now want to try and find out how long the heat bulb should stay on 24hrs for as i have tried everywhere and no-one seems to know!
Any ideas?
Thanks

foryour babies the temperature should not go over85 degrees. babies have a hard time requlating their temperature. UVB light should run 12 hours a day. with babies i would not supply a heat lamp unless you night time temperature goes bellow 60. they need a temperature drop at night to get good sleep . i hope that helps

Do you think chameleons sleep in the wild with the lights on all night? How will they tell if its day or night??

Unless the temperature goes down below normal room temperature at night, they need no heat.

Here is a great article:

In case you don't know, Kinyonga is the author.

I have never heard of keeping a basking lamp on 24 hrs for babies ... where did you hear this?

It was a website called www.easyreptiles.co.uk although i have just tried to get onto it now and it doesnt seem to be working any more.

That was my thought but being a first time chameleon mum, i had to go on what the 'experts' say as opposed to gut instinct.

Thanks for the advice.
