Help!! Skin infection/questions about supplementation

Hi Everyone, I'm new here, just got a veiled about a week ago in Virginia, and brought him back up here to Boston, MA. Wasn't a very nice pet store and I felt bad for the little guy because he's got a great personality but after I got home and started reading up about chams I realized that the light they had for him which they gave to me, was just a halogen light which definitely wasn't giving off any UVB light. I doubt they were giving him the proper supplementation so I'm fairly certain he's got a calcium deficiency. Anyway here's the info from the How to Ask page and then I'll go more in detail about what's going on.

Your Chameleon - Veiled, Male, about a year old, bought him last sunday
Handling - Not at all yet.
Feeding - Crickets and mealworms, everyday about 5 or six crickets and a couple mealworms. Just started gutloading with kale and carrots.
Supplements - just gave him Repti-Calcium with D3 yesterday for the first time, I know I've got to get another calcium supplement with no D3 and a multivitamin and I'm wondering what the best brand of both and what my schedule for that should be?
Watering - I mist twice or three times a day for about 30 seconds to a minute until everything is pretty wet in there, I saw him drinking from the window of his cage yesterday.
Fecal Description - They look pretty normal, just like little solid poops. Hasn't been tested yet.
History - None yet.

Cage Info:
Cage Type - My cage is circular plastic, about a foot and a half wide and 3 feet tall.
Lighting - I have a dual light fixture at the top of the cage (its too narrow for the straight bulb fixture), with a 26 Watt Exo Terra Reptile UVB 100 and a standard incandescent light for heat, I have the lights on for about 12 hours, I just a got a timer and set it for that, is that alright?
Temperature - I haven't got a thermometer yet but it seems pretty warm in his cage and at night the lowest it's got in my room was 65 degrees.
Humidity - I've been spraying down the whole cage 2 or 3 times a day.
Plants - No Live plants just some plastic vines that were already in his cage.
Placement - I'm going to hang his cage next to a window in my room where he is right now, he's about 5 foot from the floor right now, will be higher once i hang his cage.
Location - Boston.

So I just got back from the vet and she said he had a skin infection probably caused from a thermal burn, I'm assuming from the halogen light he had for his time at the pet store, I got antibiotics, a pain medication and some zinc oxide to put on his sores, which he has on his back and knee. We took off the top level of his terrarium so he can't get up to the top of the cage and sit right under the light which is probably too close. Any other suggestions as to what to do about the light situation and any other supplementation that might be good for him is very welcome, I want this guy to be OK, I think I'm going to call the pet store and ask for some reimbursement because I just spent more on the vet than I did on the Chameleon....
