Help sick veiled will not open eyes

My poor 2 year old male chameleon has not opened his eyes in about a week now he can't eat and moves around his tank. He has not eaten ever since his eyes couldn't open but he has been kept hydrated and constantly given pedialyte. I have no idea what do please help me I hope your guys' advice could help.

There are no herp vets in my area and I think his condition is getting worse

He is a 2 year old male veiled chameleon
He has been in my care for 1 year 1/2
He is handled often but is not usually stressed because of it
He is usually fed about 4 or 6 mealworms a day or sometimes 8-9 crickets a day, they are dusted with calcium without d3 but he is given the. With d3 once a month. I gut low them with collared greens and the crickets with the fluker orange cubes
For water I must his tank for about 3 minutes 3 times a day he has drinken every time I sprayed up until recently when he got sick
He has never been tested for parasites and his fecal matter is usually dark at first then mostly white but some yellow
He has no other history that I know of
It is a screen cage 18x18x24
I use a zoo med tropical hearing bulb and a reptisun 5.0 for uvb
The temp is normally 80 degrees farhenheit and the humidity is about 60%
Sadly I do not use live plants
His tank is placed at the back of my room on my drawer

Really, he needs to go to a vet. Not too many of us on the forum are vets.

He was fine about 10 minutes ago but then he started losing his grip and has just stayed on the floor eyes shut, moved him a bit to see what the problem was but he still is not responsive

Is there a vet you could at least call? A non herp vet should be able to at least euthanize him for you if he's is on the brink. I would hate for him to just be lying there suffering. Maybe calling a far away herp vet could at least give you advice on what you should do.

That I'm not sure of since I've only had one who is still living. Member @jannb has tons of experience with veileds so she could probably give you a better idea of that than I could.

I'm am so sad to read this. Poor little man. I love veileds and it really hurts me to see them unwell. He looks so shinny and the cage is way to small. The temps are also way to low. He should have a basking temp in the high 80's.....some even keep veileds in the low 90's but I do not. There's some really good chameleon vets in CA not to far from you. My vet use to be over 4 hours from me but now we have moved to get closer to him. If I had to guess what's wrong, I'd say parasites since he's never had a fecal. Chameleons often get parasites due to the feeders they eat. I recommend you get him to Dr. Tom Greek in Yorba Linda, phone: 714-463-1190 or The vet below in San Deigo. It sounds like he should have went to the vet weeks ago when he first started closing his eyes.
