HELP, Questions Regarding Veiled Chameleon

To whoever,

Need some serious advice for my female veiled chameleon. I know they can lay eggs and I keep reading on having a seperate "container" for substrate for her to lay eggs in. Im nervous because this is my first Chameleon and I really don't want anything to happen to her. I know if I don't have the right substrate or "soil" she won't lay her eggs and thus die. Please could I have some advice from someone on how to prepare and know the signs to look for when she is ready to lay eggs. I'm reading around on websites and to me it sounds like B.S. so I'm going to ask the real hands on experts (you guys). Any or all information would be helpful. So anything from the seperate container for her to lay in, to the soil, and to the signs that indicate she is either with eggs or ready to lay them. Please and thank you!

Welcome to the forums :)

If your cham spends allot of time at the bottom of the cage/trying to dig, then you def need to get her something to lay her eggs in. Before I go into anything else be sure to fill out this questionaire and copy/past them into your original post, or drop it below in a new comment. This will make sure your entire set up is perfect for your cham. Makes it easier for members to give you advice aswell. https://www.chameleonforums.com/how-ask-help-66/

Also be sure to check out a great blog from a member on this site, JannB. She goes over everything you need to know about female chameleons laying eggs/set up.

Also check out this thread/video aswell:

Hope that helps :)

A good way to get to know and understand your chameleon is to periodically weigh it to see if it is gaining weight, losing weight or maintaining. This also helps to better identify when you veild may be with eggs
