Help! Pygmy hatchling

Ok, I just got home and have a baby Brev pygmy hatchling on a little branch in my egg container. I read everything, saved links, now I can't remember anything or find anything. I'm in a panic. I have lots of fruitflies. He still has his yolksac attached. I put some paper towel in a small cricket keeper with a couple of wee branches in it. I hand misted, put some fruitflies in and put a nylon stocking over the whole thing, as the fruitfllies were climbing out. My husband put that whole unit in our brev enclosure for the warmth. I didn't expect to get babies as I had moved eggs around too much (if anyone remembers that). If there is an experienced pygmy breeder on the forum can you please pm me with your phone number and I can call you this evening. I'll be staring at the poor thing, so not on my computer too much, but I will check now and again. I can't get ahold of the friend of mine that used to breed them. God I'm in a panic. I have NEVER bred anything in my life!!!

ok calming down is the first thing you should do because you can slip up easily when you are excited

ive never bred chameleons but i know some basics

when you mist do not mist the baby because it can get water in its nostrils

keep plenty fruit flies in the enclosure and dont sit and stare at it because it can make it nervous

Hey Lisa-SOunds like you are doing everything perfectly right! I agree with just don't let the yolk sac get stuck-how big is it-the yolk sac?

Smaller than his head? I'm sorry, but I have nothing to compare it too. I'm keeping everything pretty moist, so I don't think it'll stick. I'll keep an eye on him. He'll have to get used to me staring at him -- he's beyond cute!

Ok, calming down is not an option. My husband is figuring things out for me.
I won't mist the baby. I assume keeping the paper towel and branches misted will suffice.
Fruit flies are in, but I can't help but sit and stare. He'll have to get used to it like the rest of my chams. It's how I spend my days (and evenings);)

Here are my current babies-all 7 of them-each of the three bins have siblings, and each bin are different ages. This is how I set up baby Pygs. These are all the babies of males I hatched last year paired with WC females. They are all males with the exception of one that hatched in her fathers bin months after her mother died.

Thanks for the pictures -- very helpful. What kind of tops do you use (to keep the fruit flies in)? Also, heating, light?

I use large pinhead crickets. I have used the pantyhose method. And screen. As you can see the 3 little containers are in a larger tote that catches the escapee crickets.

As for heating, my house is a steady 75 year round in Florida here, and the only lighting the pygs get is the ambient light from surrounding cages.

Do you worry about the pinheads eathing the babies? Also, it's too cold here to not have a heat source.

What I put in with them usually does not last long. What are your house temps? I would think I would not let them get much below 70 at night, but do not get them over 75. You will have to be careful with heating them.
