Hello Chameleon Forums members. I have a question about my Veiled Chameleon. She is 8 1/2 months old, her diet is crickets, greens, romaine lettuce, and occasional wax worms. Her crickets are dusted with the vitamin and calcium supplements every other day. Her cage temp is 75 and basking area is 80 degrees. She also has a dripper and her plants and vines are sprayed down twice a day.
Yesterday I noticed she was a different color/pattern than I have ever seen her and she has been on the move non stop when the lights are on, even walking around on the bottom which I also never seen her do before. She also hasn't ate since yesterday morning. Her tail is kinda pointed upward as if she was taking a poop. I found this site and was reading in the forums and found they lay eggs even if they weren't mated. My question is... Is she trying to lay and egg? After reading about that I just went out and got her some Eco Earth substrate and lined the bottom of the cage with about 3 inches and sprayed it down with water to make it moist.
It has been a little over 24 hours since she hasn't ate. If she does have to lay an egg how long should I give her before I seek a vet? I attached a pic of her with the color and pattern of how she has been the last 24 hours. I don't know if it will help but maybe someone with more experience with Veiled's would know something.
Thank you for any help or suggestions.
Mike
P.S. I tried to upload a pic but I guess I'm to new of a member to post pics yet.
