Hello folks i started to join here and i've red everything here in this subject forum. I've got a chameleon (Jackson Xanth) and i have ths same problem, i am so frustrated that i dont want to fail having chameleon as a pet. I underestimated them thinking they are low maintenance im so wrong. I will follow everyone's advised here and see what will be the outcome. Mike-L (my cham name) drinks only bottled water and i always sprayed him with that type of water only. I dont think Mike-L is not drinking nor eating because both of his eyes were closed. Can you show me how to force feed a chameleon? i tried to open his mouth before but im so afraid to do another mistake. I need your help. Thank you so much.

Well...pedialyte is an ingredient and yes, it's a product.
Get the unflavored. It's just something you can use to liquify the bugs a bit more so they can be injected into your chameleon's mouth (no needle on the syringe...it's like giving medication to an infant!).

It's better to keep discussions of different chameleons separate. While you may believe your chameleon has the same problem, in reality it might be something very different and having the discussions overlap can be confusing to everyone.

but how can you open a chameleons mouth? and how much quantity to be given? Thank you!

Again, you should start your own thread rather than jumping into this one. However, I've seen video of people using credit cards to gently pry the mouth open. It's important not to squirt too much in at once as they can aspirate it. You don't want to drown your chameleon while you're trying to cure it.

RIP Malygos :'(
Im so sad today a horrible tragedy happened at my own irresponsibility.
He was getting stronger and moving around the cage more but today I made him a warm bath to hydrate him (left the water dripping cause he would drink from it) like a fool i went to make his bug juice mix about 20 feet away(about 2 mins) when i came back the water was enough to have him a few millimeters above the bottom. When I saw him he was frantic with his mouth open wide i drained the water immediately. All the water drained and he layed there skinny and gasping for air but not being able to get any. I had my GF get on and look up if cpr was doable on a chameleon. We found info on this site within minutes and followed as and we did get water out but in the end it was not enough
I accidently drowned him and I feel horrible!
This just happen. I called into work im so distraught and hurt and sad. and angry with myself.
Just wanted to let everyone know
He was loved dearly and is gonna get a proper burial
Ive shed tears as I am right now typing this.

Love the forums im sure ill be back and never make the same mistake.

ya sad story
I just visited his burial site to say some nice words
I made a little shrine in my bedroom with his bowl when he was sick and i had to make bug juice and the last piece of egg carton scraps he had crickets on with his name on it.
I miss him so much
my girlfriend got me a new veiled today shes a little cutie we named her yoshi.
She is gonna get so much love and care.

even though he was a panther and her a veiled.
he was a year and a half
shes only 3 months right now looking nice and good

I got new babies since Trooper Twister died too. They are spoiled rotten and well cared for.
But, they just can't ever take the place of lost loved ones.
