If you've been following my thread you'll know I have 8 Brev eggs cooking :D This is my first time hatching anything. 4 of the 8 are on day 109!

Surely this is a bit long?

I believe the eggs wiggle when i shine a light on them... but im starting to mistrust my eyes.

I have been advised/asked by a couple of people to open one up and see whats going on.

Would the neonate be able to survive if it is indeed alive inside the egg?
I mean surely the 109 days at temps between 68 and 78 would mean it has developed long enough to survive?

I dont know what to do

I know it's difficult mate judging what to do, but i'd say 109 is long enough for the littlun to survive, you never know they could have problems with their egg tooth and mightnot be able to get out so to speak. If it was me I'd check that the largest egg moves whn u shine light on it, if it does, then I'd try opening it up, you never know how much yolk the little fellas will have to survive in inside the egg if there are problems.

What temperature have you been keeping them at?

Its always been said that if they don't hatch on their own, they won't likely survive if they are helped to hatch.

Oh :( I thought as much, which is why i am apprehensive.

Im past that excited stage of waiting for them to hatch and on to the worried stage of waiting for them to hatch. Its not a very nice feeling.

They have been kept at room temps between 65 through to 78. They have grown and not shown any signs of denting or mould. My only worry was when Mini started digging them up to lay her second clutch. She only moved two of them. This was the day i moved them to the containers... and the only time they where handled.

Ok I decided to 'meddle' with the eggs a little today... i couldnt just let them be anymore :(

I didnt open any up though.

Up until now all i've done is shine the little light over the tubs and look at the eggs that way. But today i took the lid off and did the same. They moved, all four! I got my sister in law and mum to have a look and they backed me up, so im not going mad Just grey!

I candled the eggs with the bulb (just set it along side the egg) and you could see their little bodies against the shells and they moved!

So they must be alive... just taking their time. 110 days to be exact!

I really cant wait, not now that i have seen them move in the shells

I'm not counting my chickens just yet... but im hopeful :D

Thanks everyone

110 days though... come on, thats just mean considering i thought it would only take 60 for brevs to hatch, LOL

well i think it might be safe to say, that if you thought 60 days, then its bound to be 120! hope mine dont do the same! lol

10 more days of waiting?! Please please please, i hope not!

I hope yours dont do the same also, its not fun.
