I think maybe it would be okay. But chameleons enjoy vertical space rather than horizontal, so you'd be better of leaving the cage to another reptile.

I think it would be a GREAT cage for a chameleon with MBD (so if they have horrible grip, they don't fall hard). Or even baby chameleons. Or if you could turn the cage on its side, it would be tall enough (it looks like).
