Hi guys, i jut made an account a few minutes ago and i got a veiled last week. I think i jut found his poop for the first time? Is there something wrong? Its hard and under it is really liquidy and it kinda look like a yolk from an egg. The brown part looks wet but when you look at it in real life, it appears to look like a shell. My cham looks healthy, he's bright green, active, eating, drinking (im pretty sure) and yeah, plz help! Idk if he is sick or something.

the Yellow and white part is part of the urate. they're better at absorbing moisture than we are, so that's all that's left of their pee. All in all, looks fine to me! (although a bit dry...but I'm a newbie, I just know from snake experience)

You did just get him so it may be a little stress on the animal but it does look like a healthy bowel. I would recommend that you don't use meal worms as a staple food. They are too high in fat for chameleons. I noticed some in the pic. Also the urate should be white but it may be yellow if you Cham hasn't passed in a bit.

Best of lucky, this is a great site and filled with many who are very experienced and helpful.

The "shell" part may be chitin (the exoskeleton of many common feeder insects) that was not digested. As mentioned above a chameleons poo will look like more wet than its urine (urate), which will be harder and should be white. If the urate is orange, it is a sign of dehydration. So make sure your little guy is drinking plenty and eating a healthy variety of insects as if too much chitin is ingested it could cause an impact.

Poop 101- It's the first thread -in this section a must read for all new chameleon owners-(and old chameleon owners) It looks a little yellow - but it does tend to turn yellow if it's been there a while - so I wouldn't panic- the care sheets in the resources section will tell you more you should know- welcome to the forum-
