I'm new to having a chameleon, i didn't even realize they sleep.
Yesterday my lights cut off at 8pm and my 5 month old Nosy Be went to the upper corner of his cage and fell asleep.
This morning, the lights cut on at 7:30am. My cham hasn't moved at all but he was awake. At about 8am, i touched him to make sure he was ok and he just puffed and hissed at me. I'm assuming he's not a morning person...Maybe he's not use to his new home? He was kept in a tiny glass enclosure all his life for 5 months, now he's in a 18x18x36" full mesh enclosure for the first time.
I finally got him to move (just put my finger under him and he climbed up), i just want to make sure he gets some basking time in before his first mist (10:30am). Since i've moved him he hasn't moved.
He's currently basking under my uvb light. His colors are a different and they look darker. Nothing brown/black, just a cool/dark blue. My room gets to about 65º at night.
Got too worried, and moved him to his basking spot. Forgot to mention his tail was curled when he wasn't moving.
Now he's basking and his tail is down. Also his colors are lightning up.
Anyone know what the problem could be? is this normal?
