Help! My UVB Light isn't working :(

Hey!

So my new ZooMed Reptisun Hood arrived from the US today. I put it the 5.0 tube and twisted it to lock it in.. it turned on once, I turned it off to put it on Pennie's house and then it wouldn't turn back on! It looks like its sort of turning on but the starter isn't turning on to light the whole tube???

I've waited ages for this to arrive and I'm so sad! Does anyone know if getting a Voltage converter might get it working? In general our standard here is 110-240V and the Hood says 120V (which I failed to see beforehand :|....).. I really need to get this working.. Pennie is already recovering from an RI and she hasn't had a UVB lamp for nearly 2.5 weeks (it could have been way longer, but she was in the petshop and they didn't have one set up).

Would love some help with this!

If you are in the US or Canada then it should work fine.
No voltage converter would be needed.
It may be defective.:(
Cheers!

No its not defective. Some fluorecents will not turn right back on after youve turned them off. Im sure most people have used enough of them have encountered this. Just wait for a little til the ballast resets then turn her on.

Cool! Thanks for that tip :) I'll give it another try when I get home.

I live in Dubai, normally the voltage at the sockets is 110-240V.. the lamp has a sticker that says 120V... for sure I don't need to get a converter? I don't want to blow the bulb or the hood.. shipping from the US to here is pretty expensive if I have to replace it :p
