My veiled chameleon has stuff in one of his eyes and the other he can't open. He can partly see out of the eye with stuff in it but he still can't see very well. Does anyone know what I can do to help him?

Welcome to the forum. Sorry your chameleon can't open his eyes. Are you able to clean his eyes with a wet cotton bud? Sometimes prolonged spraying with warm water can help. Chams wash their eyes out when being sprayed. Bathing with normal saline may help. You can usually get this at contact lens supplies. I would give this a try and get back to us if you need more help.:)

Has he shed latley?
Sometimes they get little pieces of shed in their eyes.

Get a large spray bottle, fill it with warm (not hot) water, adjust the sprayer
nozzle to spray a coarse spray insted of a mist.

Spray him directly, from above, like rain.
Use the whole bottle, make sure he gets a good long bath.

They use the water to help clean their eyes.

Do this twice a day.

If no relief, you can buy eyedrops for reptiles, but I have never needed to use
it because the warm showers have always worked for me.

You can spray him while in his cage, this way, he will be less stressed then if
you took him out.

Welcome to the forums. I am sorry to here about your veileds eyes. I would take a Q-tip and wet it with warm water and wash out his eyes. It may take several Q-tips. You can also buy some plain saline solution (no chemicals added) and try flushing his eyes. He's probably going to need a vet visit because that might be an infection and he will need an antibiotic to cure it and keep it from spreading to the rest of his body. I've attached a list of vets recommended by members here on the forums. Don't go into all the links....just read the post by the different members and see if you can find a chameleon vet any where close to you.

I have been trying to use Q-tips with saline on it for a couple days and that hasn't really helped much. I will try to flush it out. If that doesn't work a trip to the vet it is. Thanks you have been a lot of help.
