  • Your Chameleon - Male, 11 months old. I have had hime for 8 months
  • Handling- every other days
  • Feeding - he eats around 3-5 gryllus campestris crikets +2 to 3 super worms per day, which depends on his appetite. I
  • Supplements - Calcium D3 every day + multi vitamin 1-2 times per week. Both from Exo Terra.
  • Watering - Watering manually when he eats as he doesn't drink from the dripper. I see him drinking.
  • Fecal Description - he mostly in dark green like the pictures. Sorry that I'm not good at describe the colors. Pls refer to original pictures without filters at all. Sometimes change to dark brown when he's not in good mood.
  • History - No any previous problems.
Cage info
  • Cage Type - He's a free ranger. As he doesn't like to stay in the cage. He crawls around the room and stay wherever he likes. Sometime on the couch or hanger I put for him.
  • Lighting - I take him to sunbath every day for 30-60 mins . So he's not using any light since natural sunbath every day
  • Temperature - I'm living in Bangkok. The daily temperature now here is ard 28- 35 celsius degree.
  • Humidity - I myst him as much as I can manually since he doesn't stay in cage. And he hates it. Especially during sunbath.
  • Plants -dracaena sanderiana

Current Problem - The current problem you are concerned about.

They will stop eating for a bit on occasion, change in routine may be a reason... He is also reaching his adult size and will need less food.
Try a different feeder to spice things up or maybe it's just time to start feeding him every other day instead of daily.

Its difficult to find other insets here. Only crickets r alive & some worms . I will keep observing for few more days to see.

If you take him outside everyday I would cut back on the D3 supplement. He should be getting regular calcium with no D3 every feeding. Over dosing D3 can lead to health issues

Oohhh, I didn't know that. Gosh. I hope it's not too late to reduce the D3 now.

If he's free ranging is there anything he might chew on like plants, greens, that might be eating causing him to not be hungry?
What's the temperature in the room? Do you have air-conditioning?

Get a poop sample to the vet to be tested for parasites. Also 30-60 minutes a day of sun isn't really enough. I'd still keep a UVB light for him whil he is in doors. At least make him a free range from branches and plants in doors he would like to climb on. Put the UVB light there. Shedding could also cause him to stop eating. When is the last time he shed?

Also, how large was his cage. They need a minimum of 4x2x2 feet. Rants what I have and my guy needs larger. He too constantly wnats out of his cage to free range. But I recently set up an outdoor enclosure. So he gets quite a few hours a day now. Have to bring him in at hottest points of the day. And then next week as soon as my stuff comes in the mail I am setting up a basking heat spot and UVB light on the spot he is at the most while on his free range.

@kelly_girl199 I 100% agree with you, you need to get him a UVB bulb. You are not giving him enough sun exposure and he could develop MBD very easily and get extremely sick. Get one ASAP.

That being said, I typically find my chameleon won't eat of he's not warm enough or if he's mad about something. Check his temperature and maybe try increasing it.

As my observation, he hates greens and fruits. But I see some baby gecko in he room, hmmmm, they don't eat geckos , right?

I live in Bangkok. Nowadays room temperature is above 30 degree Celsius in the room. I and I don't use air con becoz of him. So I believe bits warm enough. Do I still need to set a hot point in this case?I have uvb light, but every time when I put him in cage for lighting, he changes to brown immediately. So I think he does hate it.

Im living in Bangkok, Thailand, which is a tropical country. The normal temp now here is above 30 degree Celsius. i think is warm enough already. do i still need to set a hot spot in this case? i have UVB light at home, but since im taking him for sunbath every day at least 30 mins. does he still need the UVB light ? I tried to put him in cage sometimes for the light, but he changes to dark brown immediately. so im pretty sure he hates it. pls advise if i still need to set the light even taking him out everyday.

Last time for the parasite check was in December. Doctor said he's okie and asked me to check once every 6 month. Will bring him to few days later to see

if its that warm then no he is probably fine, however they still need cooler spots too.

30 minutes isnt enough. Several hours yes. Look up free ranges on this forum. At least set up an area in the house with live plants tthat can be misted . You may be able to at least set up something that isnt a cage he can stay on and be able to use the UVB light. Post a picture of his enclosure.

and I know how you feel. My chameleon hates hhis cage too. I just have to work around it until I move and have room to combine two screen cages.

today he kep digging at the screen in the outside enclosure. I had to let him roam his free range for a few hours to satisfy him. Then I moved him back out to outdoor enclosure and he was fine.
