First off, do you have any lights UVB & heat light with housings?? Do you have any plants, vines etc?! Do you have a dripper, mister? do you plan on doing this yourself or are you going to hookup a mister system?? Let us know what you have now..you many not need to get EVERYTHING all over again..unless you want extras?? Either chameleon package you posted is good.

Hey, why don't you educate yourself, do some reading on the care of chameleons and decide if you would have the time, patience and monetary solvency to have one as a pet...

Hi Josh, Don't panic! I'm sure that you have some items that you can use for your new enclosure such as lighting etc. Most people prefer this type of cage for their adult panthers. I did see your previous thread but can you remind me how old yours is? Here is a link to really good screen cages that lllreptile carries http://lllreptile.com/store/catalog...ges/-/24-x-24-x-48-inch-aluminum-screen-cage/ Depending on how old your cham is you might need a smaller size.

Also what do you currently use for lighting? You need two different types and this goes for your Jackson's cham also.
1) 5.0 UVB linear tube style light like the zoomed Reptisun
2) Dome lamp with a 60-100 wat regular household bulb which

You don't want any substrate on the bottom of the cage including bioballs or moss.

You can use live plants which will aid in humidity and give your cham a place to hide. Also helps with humidity. Such as Pothos, Umbrella plant there is a list of plants that will work on the forum

You don't want a waterfall. What you will need is a dripper which can be purchased or easily made from items at home. Search dripper.

Also you'll need a spray bottle for misting.

You need vitamin supplements:
1) Calcium without D3 Use daily
2) Calcium with D3 use twice monthly
3) Multi Vitamin Use twice monthly

All the above is needed for your Jackson's also.

Go back on their website and type in Reptibreeze in the search bar. Then go to "Specials" and then scroll down to the 24 X 24 X 48. That is probably the best cage size and it is made out of aluminum so it won't rust. Also if you will notice the one you had picked out is just one big door and the one I am suggesting has two doors. Big on top/small on bottom. You will need that bottom door! It lets you get into the bottom of the cage for clean up without having to open the whole cage up. Also, the package you are looking at has the "Reptiglo 5.0". Everyone says the "Reptisun 5.0" is the best. They sell the Reptisun there also. Just a few suggestions. You can do what you want as far as the type of cage and the size. You could always go bigger and with the single door. I am not sure if those cages are all aluminum and you want to check that out. I have heard of people's cages getting rust with all the mistings and stuff.

Ha! Jaxy girl, you beat me to it! I tried to copy and paste that same pic and couldn't do it!!!??? lol! I was trying to tell him how to get to that picture on their website. Good Advice!!!!

I think that's why he's here is to get educated. It seems that most of the info he got at the pet store was wrong and like the majority of people that don't know better he took them at their word, assuming they knew what they were talking about, and purchase the setup they told him to. Now he's trying to make things better so I think for the sake of the cham we can help him out as best as we can.

LOL! I'm finally getting quicker on here...only took me 600 posts to catch on :p

He already has a Jackson's and atleast he wants to do the right thing for his panther and I commend him for that!!

OK i have a 75 watt heat bulb. i know i dont have the right uvb rep sun 5.0 i need this. i sold my jackson even though i didnt want to it was just bc i moved into a apt with my gf and her dad, her dad wouldnt let me keep 3 reptiles for the apartment so i had to sell him. I have my panther in a exo terra glass cage he loves it well i am pretty sure he moves around it like crazy. i have green reptile carpet in there that i clean every day i was told that was ok. i know that the other cages are better but the glass cage will not hurt and it helps keep the humity in it that is what i was told on here atleast. i just got to clean it alot but that dont bother me. i have a spray bottle i spray him 5 times a day if not more. i have a bunch of vines and fake plants in the cage and a few things he likes to hid behind. but i am getting a job soon. So i need a mister right?? where can i find one kinda cheap i am a little short on cash right now. but as soon as i get money after the uvb lights and the other things i will get him a better cage but for now i havet to keep him in that exo terra cage. and as for the calcium i was told from petsmart that the one i have will be good for him but i bet they are wrong to its called repto cal so i will need some help for that like what to get and to where to get it. o i almost forgot that the panther is 7 months to 8 moths old. i need to know what temp i should have it on and the humidity to. But all i got to do is open up the doors to the cage and i stick my hand a little bit outside it he comes running he has come really attached to me i guess i love him to death and i want the best for him its just i need to get the money first for the cage. If u like i can post some pictures of him and the cage bc i have another question about his eye there is a little bump beside his eye and i am thinking its from the uvb so i think that should come first right i will post pictures of his eyes. i just feel so bad that i spent over 1500 bucks on reptile supplies and its mostly the wrong stuff. but another thing is my jackson was i would say full grown and when he started climbing on my hand he grips really hard well the panther doesnt do that, is it bc he is still to young or is it something bad. The person that had the panther before me used the same type of uvb bulb as me could this be some real harm or something normal. What is the best type of heating bulb for him to i like to have extras same with the uvb just in case something happens. But the the size of the exo terra cage is i think 18x18x24 how big of a tube do i need and what size hood would fit best for my money and the tank for right now. well i think that might be all my questions i think sorry its so long but i have alot of questions and u all know the best so i am sorry once again for this being so long and i thank you so very much everyone

Hi Razzmo, it looks like you've made some really good changes since you started this post. I think that's great! I'm definitely not a panther expert but hopefully people will chime in and help out :)
OK i have a 75 watt heat bulb. i know i dont have the right uvb rep sun 5.0 i need this. I have my panther in a exo terra glass cage he loves it well i am pretty sure he moves around it like crazy. i have green reptile carpet in there that i clean every day i was told that was ok. The problem with the reptile carpet is that it can harbor bacteria even if it's washed. Even if it doesn't look pretty you're better off leaving the bottom of the cage bare or laying paper towels down for easy clean up. i know that the other cages are better but the glass cage will not hurt and it helps keep the humity in it that is what i was told on here atleast. I know that you can't afford anything else right now but eventually you're going to have to get a larger screened cage for you panther because your enclosure is too small for a adult panther cham. What you could do is get him a large fake silk plant that you can put him on to free range him so he can get more exercise and activity when outside his enclosure. i just got to clean it alot but that dont bother me. i have a spray bottle i spray him 5 times a day if not more. Just make sure that when you spray him..you spray him long enough so that he will drink. I spray my jackson's 5-10 min during one soaking and then do several small mists per day. i have a bunch of vines and fake plants in the cage and a few things he likes to hid behind. but i am getting a job soon. So i need a mister right?? You don't need a mister..they are very expensive for just one cham. Many people such as myself just use a spray bottle. My cham will drink directly out of the spray bottle (easy and cheep) and you can probably train yours too. where can i find one kinda cheap i am a little short on cash right now. but as soon as i get money after the uvb lights and the other things i will get him a better cage but for now i havet to keep him in that exo terra cage. and as for the calcium i was told from petsmart that the one i have will be good for him but i bet they are wrong to its called repto cal so i will need some help for that like what to get and to where to get it. o i almost forgot that the panther is 7 months to 8 moths old. i need to know what temp i should have it on Basking temp (temp taken directly on his basking spot under the light) should be around 85-90 degrees. Humidity 50-70%..humidity will go up when you spray and will go down when it dries up. Make sure cage dries up between mistings..if it stays damp it could cause bacterial infections and other problems on his skin and the humidity to. You definitely have to get a 5.0 UVB bulb ASAP. UVB intimates the natural sunlight. Chams the need the UVB in order to make vitamin D3. D3 helps to metabolize calcium. Without D3 a cham can not absorb calcium into their bones. If they can't absorb calcium it leads to a calcium deficiency which it causes MBD (Metabolic Bone Disease) which causes softening of the bones and other serious problems that lead to death if untreated. That's why you have to also use supplements sprinkled on your chams food. If you go back a few threads you'll see that I listed all three types. Brand really doesn't matter..it's the ingredients that count. i just feel so bad that i spent over 1500 bucks on reptile supplies and its mostly the wrong stuff. but another thing is my jackson was i would say full grown and when he started climbing on my hand he grips really hard well the panther doesnt do that, is it bc he is still to young or is it something bad. It could be the beginning of MDB see above.^^^.weak grip is one of the first symptoms The person that had the panther before me used the same type of uvb bulb as me could this be some real harm or something normal. What is the best type of heating bulb for him to i like to have extras same with the uvb just in case something happens. The best bulbs to use is a regular incandescent household bulb and they are cheep But the the size of the exo terra cage is i think 18x18x24 how big of a tube do i need and what size hood would fit best for my money and the tank for right now. You could probably go to Home Depot or lows and buy a 16-18" florescent light strip that will be way cheeper then a pet store brand. With a 15" Zoomed Riptisun 5.0 UVB florescent bulb. well i think that might be all my questions i think sorry its so long but i have alot of questions and u all know the best so i am sorry once again for this being so long and i thank you so very much everyone
