hey i just got a veiled cham yesterday and not gonna lie we did it all wrong without research. i was at petsmart and my dad fell in love with an eager to be held cham and knowing my love for new responibilities and all animals he suggested taking this beatiful creature home and i agreed knowing that it was much more a challenge than my recently deciesed anoles. all is well so far but i have questions on the proper tank supplies and lightings, the sex of my cham, and am open to any suggestions and tips....which are must needed in my unprepared circumstances.

when im holding my cham if he gapes his mouth should i not hold him or just let him relax in my hand for a little seeing as i am new to him?

and also wats the easiest way to tell its sex?

If you have looked through any of those links yet, you will notice most of them talk specifically about not handling your chameleon too often. You should not hold your chameleon just to hold it, in fact you should only take it out when you have to, for things like cage cleanings. For sexing see if you can find any spurs on the back of the foot, or if the beggining of the tail (just behind the back) seems swollen/bigger then the rest of the tail. If you find either or, then you have a male.
