Hey everyone when i checked on my year old veiled chameleon sleeping tonight i noticed a strange discoloration on his left cheek and also on his left arm that i have never seen before does anyone know what this could be? He has been eating and is very active during the day and we also give him calcium every day and multi vitamin once a week.

Basking branch temp? Basking branch distance below the heat bulb?

Definitely agree with the above being a bruise or burn.

Hey everyone. Thanks for the responses. When Camo woke up this morning, his discoloration is gone. I'm thinking that if it is a bruise or burn it would still be there? Not sure..

@Thehippie , his heat lamp is resting on the top of the cage.
@Graves923 , his basking branch temp is around 85-90 degrees right below the bulb, but the basking branch distance to the bulb is around 6 inches.

Chameleons, especially younger ones, will often climb around on the ceiling of their cage. If the heat lamp is resting on it, directly on the screen, the chameleon has a big chance of getting burned!
