Help me identify this spot

Hi everyone, I have just noticed a spot on my male veiled that I have had for a few months. He seems to be doing just fine but about a week ago I noticed that whenever he is basking he has a light colored spot on his side in the same place every time. This spot is very similar in color to his color when he is sleeping, a very light pale greenish. (looks more yellow in the pictures) Is this anything to be worried about? Do I have to change his name to Spot?

Can he change colour on that spot? Other than when basking?

Looks like an old burn? Now the colors are "mismatched", cell damage.

I was kind of thinking it might be a burn but I don't know how he could have gotten burned. That spot never seems to change color it always stays the same. However you can't see it when he is sleeping because his whole body turns that color, it's like that spot is locked into his relaxed sleeping color.

My quads will go quite dark when outside exposed to real sun, but any spot that is covered will be bright yellow green. I once did a series of pictures of a quad that went black in my hand from the sun as I carried her to the outdoor cage but had my hand marks from where my hand had blocked the sunlight. As soon as the bright yellow/green was exposed to the sun, it started to go dark. They sometimes do it indoors, but it is really obvious when they get real sun on their skin.

Could that be what you are seeing?

I can't really think of anything that could cause this other than the burning previously. Is it a new thing or has is always been like this?
I was wondering if any internal problems could cause this but I couldn't think of anything else yet, might just be a discoloration problem. Keep an eye on itif it spreads or if it pops up somewhere else too

I wouldn't think so. What we can see in your pic is temporary, only because the sun didn't get there.
In this case as I understood it is permanent.

I have only just noticed it, so either it is a recent burn, (but it doesn't look inflamed, or injured in any way) an old burn that is just now showing up, or something else. It does not appear to be the same thing that jajeanpierre is seeing because it is always there it doesn't go away.

For right now I am just keeping an eye on it, and will see if it changes. Thanks for the input.
