Some of you might remember me making a post about my oldest female veiled's wierd lime green coloring lately. Well she's still that color and today I noticed her rubbing her left eye in her basking spot. I didn't notice anything wrong with her eye, and she hasn't shed lately. Any ideas?? I also saw her with her eyes closed in the basking area.

What is your lighting like? What is the humidity at? For the most part, I've seen chameleons most often have eye problems when it's too dry or too bright, or someone is using those rotten compact UVB bulbs.

I sometimes notice my chams rub their eyes. Everytime so far I mist them and they stop so I assume they had a dust particle in it. I hope that is all it is with yours...

I use normal 60W household bulbs for my veiled heatlamps, and the basking spot is about a foot and a half from the bulb, maybe 2 foot. 55% humidity in my reptile room.

Try an extra misting with very warm water and maybe she has something in her eye that will wash out. You could also try a drop of saline solution.

I suggest putting a plant in the shower and pointing the shower head at the wall, allowing the mist to fall on your cham. This helped out mine when he had eye problems.

how old is your cham, my cham used to do that before he shed and you mentioned that she hasn't shed for a while.
