So guys, yesterday when I tried to hand feed Spyro he didn’t want them. I just thought “ Okay, he probably just doesn’t want them right now. “

Today, I fed him 1 hornworm ( and left one of the side ). He ate the one from my hand. I came back to out the other one on a stick and then realized that he had a worm looking thing coming from his nose/ mouth area. Not sure if I need to take him to a vet or if it’s just a piece of hornworm or something. Please let me know quickly.

Here’s a picture of the weird thing.

In my unprofessional opinion, this looks like maybe some form of guts? Hornworm feces are round, so that’s automatically out of the question.

Otherwise, it might be some sort of foliage that got caught on the hornworm before/as your Cham went to eat it? Not 100% though.

Just icky guts. I do want to give a word of advice/caution about putting hornworms on a branch and other things. They have very sticky feet and a very strong grip. If they have a good grip on something, your chameleon’s tongue might not be strong enough to pull it off and in return, its tongue can be pulled and damaged. I suggest only hand feeding them. If you don’t want to touch the hornworm, put it on a smooth plastic surface and offer it to your cham that way.
