Help finding a spot for cage

I live in Encinitas, North San Diego County and need advice on where to put my cage. I really don't have much room and I wanted to keep it in my room upstairs but the only place to keep it would be 6 inches away from the window. Will he get too cold at night or should I try to find somewhere else. I have 2 snake cages and a Reef/fish tank so theres only minimal space.

an ideal place is somewhere that does not have alot of vibrations and does not have a draft because you want to be able to control the temp and humidity as much as possible, just get those two factors checked off and the spot will work

so not near a window or door, you could have him near a window if not much cold can come through the window and you would never want to open it.

id say find another spot, even if you have to put the fish near the window and the cage where the fish are

I figured they probably shouldnt be there but I thought I'd ask. Moving the reef tank is not an option so I may not be able to keep him in my room then

Dam no window or door? That where i had plan to put mines :( but i live in L.A c.A so its warm here in So Cal, should i still.do it?

ya you can do it if you live in a place that won't change the cham's cage far from the preferred temp.

It's fairly dry in So Cal so I would just make sure that you keep that in check.

The only way you can tell for sure is by testing! (do this without a cham in it). just put the cage in the spot you want and put it through whatever it would go through on a regular day and use your thermometer to make sure nothing gets so cold that it hurts your cham, and you still want him to be able to bask properly. And it can't be soo drafty that you can't get your cage to the correct humidity (could mean you might have to spray more).

You're the only one that can really decide, its just easier and less work for you if the cage is away from windows and doors (doesn't mean it can't be).

It's you're job to make your cham as comfortable as possible, and that means taking shortcuts could be harmful.

I have my chameleon right next to a doorway where we pass back and forth all day. He is also next to my computer and there is no problem whatsoever with him being stressed or freaked out. I feel the more you isolate him from you the more difficult time he will have ever getting used to you. Just my opinion but I have a super friendly layed back chameleon that can be handled or approached in or out of the cage at any given time. I have interacted with him since the day I got him and that includes my whole family. I also have him in a room right across from my bird and it doesn't bother him a bit!
