Help my Jackson Xanth. female cham is only eating 0-1 cricket a day. She is pregnant,but I don't know when she is going to have her babies. She is about 1 year 10 months...HELP!

When was she mated? That will at least give you a starting place to how close she is to the babies arriving. If she is really close she may not feel she has space to eat. I had heard they often quit eating just before laying or delivering babies, but only recently learned why. Have you offered her different types of feeders? maybe she just needs a change. Is she still active and drinking? If so I would wait a few days before I panicked. But then being me, I would full on panic and run for a vet. Could you post some pictures of her? That might help some of the others who know more about jacksons and babies that I do to tell you if they think she is close.

She wasn't mated. When i got her she had babies, and now her tummy is all big like it was when I got her. So I'm 99.9% sure she is. Hope this helps!

female jax dont lay, they birth, live bearers.

Well that was easier that I thought. The average is 3 to 4 months. I would guess you are getting ready to be a grandparent yet again.. Any was just keep a look out and get the babies away form Mom, but i am sure you already know all that stuff. If i can help, just shoot me a pm or I will check back on you here. sorry I ment give birth. and sorry for the double question you guys must have been replying at the same time as me. another question when she gave birth the first time how long was she pregnant? Due to the longer gestation, a female may only have one clutch per year, but if the incubation is shorter, ie. 5 months, she may be able to give birth to two clutches in a single year
