I just don't know what to do! Reptar is perfectly fine looking. he is hydrated, has eaten, is bright green and seems happy.
I found him this am on the ground and picked him up he immediately went to sleep in my hands. I was convinced he had passed because he stopped breathing and his eyes were closed and he was slumped. Then when I moved, he woke up and started grabbing for things again. He has done this 4 times today. He won't drink and every time I try to put him back in his cage he tries to come to my hand again. He looks perfectly healthy....not sure what to do or what is going on.

No vet open and no emergency vet available.

He is a jackson. Unsure of age as I am his 3rd owner and rescused him about 5 months ago. I am guessing rather old because his horns are really really long.

Sorry to hear about your sick jax.
Please post a picture of him and his cage set up.

Also, please fill out the "how to ask for help" form located at the top of the
forum page.

Can you fill out the husbandry form to give us some ideas on if there's anything that could have lead to this behavior? https://www.chameleonforums.com/how-ask-help-66/

If picked up under significant stress they can play dead to try to make a predator lose interest. However, it shouldn't be triggered so easily normally and he shouldn't be at the bottom of the cage so I'd suspect some type of illness or old age. Keep him comfortable and warm and try to minimize stress as much as possible and see how's he's doing tomorrow with some rest. If he's still not acting right you should try to get him to a vet.
