Help! Chameleon placement

My friend can no longer take care of her veiled chameleon, so I'm getting one in about two weeks. I'm having a hard time figuring out which room would be best to put her cage in. One option would be the closet in my room..My main concern with that is 1) it won't be by the window and 2) I have a free range rabbit that likes to run about, and I don't want the chameleon see it and start stressing out over it. I could put the cage in the very back of the closest, but than the chameleon would have nothing to look at except four blank walls, and I find that a bit inhumane. However, all in all the closest area/bedroom is the most quietest room. The second option would be the living room area. It has more natural lighting from the windows, but I'm afraid the sound system would bother her. Plus I allow my rabbit to roam about the living room as well.

What would you guys do? Thanks

glad you are able to help your friend and the chameleon :)

You don't need (or want) the cage next to the window, in that they don't benefit from light that comes through windows because window glass blocks UVB and could get overheated if too much direct light beams onto them that they cannot move away from.

A large closet is okay if the closet door is open (air flow).

But anywhere in the room should be okay, so long as there isn't a lot of traffic, an ac or heating unit blowing direct on the cage, or lights on at night (unless cage is covered somewhat at night).

I think the rabbit will be okay, so long as the chameleons cage is well above ground/rabbit level.

Chameleons don't hear well. But they may be disturbed by heavy vibration (base) and light from your TV (if you have one) and your guests walking around in the living room.
So bedroom is probably better. Let the rabbit have the living room instead :)
